There's never been that

scary. But as a fan of Junji Ito's very unsettling horror that worms it's way into your pschye

I've always thought that a good adaptation of his work was the last bastion of hope for horror anime.

I think I've lost all hope now.

Alright, the second episode was a lot better

but I think the real problem lies in that his terrifying art just falls a bit flat in this adaptation

IF it can even be captured at all.

So, instead, let's watch this cute little show about baby sitters.

At least, I think these are babies are not adorably reanimated nendoroids

and really, what can I say?

Japan is back at it again trying to get their population to breed

with a show about babies being absolutely adorable little bastards.

This is a great tech demo but can we expect the plot or characters to be patched in anytime soon?

I mean it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen but at the moment

it's just very pretty looking cardboard.

Violet at the beginning is bland enough to dilute the taste of sandpaper

and nothing is grabbing me about the plot.

The backstory seems way more interesting than what's going on.

I don't know why I enjoyed Overlord Season 1 as much as I did

was just the nice popcorn entertainment I needed, just before I got bored of the concept.

So I am very much looking forward to Season 2.

You know that feeling when you think you could be watching something that turns out really special?

This series was it for me.

It's rare that I find a show that captures the youthful optimism, camaradarie

and adolescent spirit as well as this does.

Every episode is brimming with energy.

The cast have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen

and it's incredibly inspiring for anyone who's ever wanted to undertake an adventure in their lives

but never had the courage to.

Really capturing that free-spirited journey.

I have really high hopes for this, not only because there are few phrases that can get me going as much as:

because it looks like they've taken Trigger's style and sanded off all the edges.

And I did want to talk about the mecha designs which are of course very 'Star Driver'-esque

and how this show feels like it's sorely missing a Hiroyuki Sawano score.

I mean I can't be the only one who's watching these scenes and waiting for a Sawano drop.
