There are some common phrases we can use when travelling that can help us to get through some important situations and I know in some cases we can manage to figure out by ourselves and not talk to anyone but it is really important that you know them just in case you need them in the end.

今日紹介するのは旅行時に大事な場面で助けてくれるというよく使うフレーズです。自分で解決できる場合もあるけど、万が一必要になった時のために知っておくことが大事です。

You may need it, I don't know, it's much better to be prepared than not, right?

本当に必要になるかはわかりません。でも、準備しないよりかはいいでしょ？

So today I'm going to teach you 7 phrases that you can use on your vacations and your trips to help you go through everything, every situation.

今日は休暇、旅行でどんな状況でも乗り切れるという 7 つのフレーズを教えます。

These are 7 phrases you should absolutely know when travelling abroad...

海外旅行するときは絶対に知っておくべき 7 つのフレーズです。

Okay, so the first phrase is: "Where is my gate?"

一つ目は「私の搭乗ゲートはどこですか？」

It's actually very important to know your gate because this is where you're going to stay until you get on your flight.

自分の搭乗ゲートを知っていることはとても大事です。なぜなら、飛行機に搭乗するまでそこに待機するからです。

So you always need to confirm where your gate is, just in case you don't get the wrong one cause sometimes airports are very big and the gates are very far apart from each other and you don't want to miss your flight because of that.

だから、搭乗ゲートを間違えないために、自分のゲートは必ず確かめる必要があります。なぜなら、空港は時にはかなり大きくて、搭乗ゲートがそれぞれすごく遠く離れてることがあるから。ゲートを間違えて飛行機に乗り遅れたくないですよね。

This one is especially for the ladies but it's actually a human need so everybody should know it but I am someone who goes a lot to the restroom and I'm always in a hurry so I always need to ask someone: "Where is the restroom?"

次のフレーズは特に女性のためですが、人間の生理的欲求なのでみんな知っておくべきです。私はよくトイレに行く人で、いつも急いでるから、「トイレはどこですか？」と誰かにいつも聞かないとだめなんです。

We tend to get really scary (scared) of the immigration control.

入国管理って緊張しますよね。

We can actually never know what questions they're going to make (ask) us but there are some common questions they normally do, so we need to be prepared for them.

どんな質問をしてくるかわからないけど、よく聞かれる質問がいくつかあるから、準備しておきましょう。

So here are some questions that immigration controls does (asks):

入国管理で聞かれるいくつかの質問は次のとおり：

The first one is: "For how long will you stay in the country?"

一つ目は：「どのくらい国に滞在しますか？」

You can answer: "I will be here for 15 days", for example.

例えばこう答えることができます：「15日間ここに滞在します。」

Second: "Are you here for tourism?" and you can say: "I'm visiting my family" or : "Just for vacations (vacation)", etc.

二つ目は：「目的は旅行ですか？」　その場合はこう答えることができます：「家族を訪れています。」もしくは「休暇で来ています。」など。

The third one is: "Where are you staying?" and you can reply with: "I'm staying at" and the address of the place.

三つ目は「どこに泊まる予定ですか？」　その場合はこう答えることができます："I'm staying at" の後ろに住所です。

When you're in a hotel it is very important to know how to call the front desk.

ホテルにいるとき、フロントに電話をかける方法を知っていることは大事です。

On many occasions, you'll probably need them (it) so make sure you write down the phone desk number.

よく必要になることもありますから、フロントの電話番号を書いておくようにしましょう。

Another thing that is very important is to know how you ask directions for the places you want to go to when travelling.

もう一つ重要なことは、旅行しているときに目的地までの道の尋ね方を知っておくことです。

If you want to get a bus or go to the nearest bank or pharmacy...

バスに乗りたかったり、最寄りの銀行もしくは薬局に行きたかったり、

There are actually many ways that you can ask for directions, so I'm going to show you some of them right now.

道の尋ね方は実は色々あります。ですから、いくつか紹介します。

Let's just take the examples I've mentioned.

私があげる例を見てみましょう。

You can ask: "Where is the nearest bus stop?" or: "Where can I find a pharmacy" or "a bank?"

こう尋ねることができます：「最寄りのバス停はどこですか？」または「薬局はどこにありますか？」または「銀行はどこにありますか？」

And the last but not least, a very important thing to know how to ask is to ask for help.

最後になりましたが、助けを求めるときの言い方を知っておくことは大事です。

I know that I can't cover every situation here, so I'm going to help you with some cases that you'd need help with when travelling.

ここで全ての状況を挙げられませんが、旅行していて助けが必要ないくつかの状況において役に立ちます。

Some of the most common cases are these: "I have lost my passport!" or "Someone stole my money!"

よくあるのは以下のとおりです：「パスポートなくした！」または「お金を盗まれた！」
