and I am a Communication Major

at Truman State.

I studied abroad in Tampere, Finland.

It was the first time I was able to

get out of the United States and

I was able to really experience

a culture and learn about other ways

of living, rather than just what I'm

used to here in the U.S.

The Finnish education system is one of

the most respected systems in the world,

which I didn't know before going

but Iearned quickly after getting there.

I got to drive a husky sled,

I got my reindeer driver's license,

I was able to see the northern lights,

which I thought I would never get to see.

I definitely recommend it to everybody.

It's an opportunity that really helps you

understand your own culture through

another view, which is something

indescribable until you experience it

for yourself.
