Hit on doesn't mean to hit right?

Hit onは、右手を打つという意味ではありません。

Hit means you punch someone or you use your hand to hurt someone.

Hitは、誰かを殴ったり、手を使って誰かを傷つけたりすることです。

So that's not what it means.

そういう意味ではないんですね。

Hit on means.

Hit onの意味。

Well, when a guy maybe likes a girl, he sees someone and he thinks that girl is cute, he wants to know her better, He wants to know her more.

男の人って、もしかしたら好きな子がいて、その子を見て「かわいいな」と思ったら、その子のことをもっと知りたい、もっと知りたいと思うんです。

So he might go to her and ask for her phone number, tried to talk to her.

そこで、彼女のところに行って電話番号を聞き、話そうとしたのかもしれません。

That's hitting on uh that's hit on, right?

それはヒットオン......ヒットオンだよね？

He's hitting on her.

彼は彼女を口説いている。

Okay?

いいですか？

So yes, a girl can hit on a guy as well.

だから、女の子が男性を口説くことも可能なのです。

Um usually, but it's usually the guy that hits on the girl.

うーん、普通はね、女の子を口説くのは男の方なんだけどね。

Uh so let's look at these examples, He hit on her, he hit on her again.

あー、ではこれらの例を見てみましょう。「彼は彼女を口説いた、彼は彼女を再び口説いた。

This means he went to the girl and tried to talk to her and know her better.

これは、彼が女の子のところに行って、彼女と話して、彼女のことをよく知ろうとしたということです。

So maybe they can be a couple later or have a relationship again.

だから、あとでカップルになったり、また関係を持ったりできるかもしれない。

He hit on her.

彼は彼女を口説いた。

The next sentence says she got hit on, she got hit on this is not the same as this sentence, right?

次の文では、she got hit on, she got hit on これは、この文とは違いますよね？

So she didn't hit on someone, she got hit on, which means that somebody hit on her.

つまり、彼女は誰かを口説いたのではなく、口説かれた、つまり誰かが彼女を口説いたということです。

So don't get that confused.

だから、そこは勘違いしないでほしい。

So let's look at some more example sentences together.

では、もう少し例文を一緒に見てみましょう。

Okay, let's look at these examples, She always gets hit on at the bar, She always gets hit on at the bar.

さて、これらの例を見てみましょう。She always gets hit on at the bar, She always gets hit on at the bar.

Many guys hit on me many guys hit on me.

多くの男が私を口説いた......多くの男が私を口説いた。

I saw a man hit on a pretty girl.

可愛い女の子を口説いている男の人を見た。

I saw a man hit on a pretty girl, He's a womanizer.

可愛い女の子を口説いている男を見ましたが、彼は女たらしです。

He hits on every girl, he's a womanizer.

彼はすべての女の子を口説いて、女たらしなんだ。

He hits on every girl.

彼はすべての女の子を口説く。

Okay, so let's review one more time we learned the idiom.

さて、それではイディオムを学んだことをもう1度復習してみましょう。

Hit on again.

またヒットしました。

Hit on means you like someone that you don't know, you go and talk to them again.

Hit onとは、知らない人でも、好きな人がいれば、その人にまた声をかけることです。

Maybe try to get to know them better or their phone number or something like that.

もっと仲良くなってみようとか、電話番号を聞いてみようとか、そういうことです。

Now in America.

今、アメリカでは

Um yeah, guys hit on girls of course, but I think in Korea a lot more korean guys tend to hit on girls in public places like the bus stop or on the street or maybe even on the subway.

もちろん、男が女を口説くことはありますが、韓国では、バス停や路上、あるいは地下鉄など、公共の場で女を口説く韓国人男性が多いように思います。
