And that expression is 'to dump someone'. 'to dump someone' 

そしてその表現は「to dump someone」。'to dump someone' (誰かを捨てる)

Well, what do you think that means? Well, for those of you who are in a relationship,  

さて、その意味は何だと思いますか？さて、お付き合いしている方には

maybe, you're not happy. Hmm 

もしかしたら、あなたは幸せではないかもしれません。うーん

Maybe you don't love that person anymore, or maybe  that person is just really horrible, really bad. 

もうその人を愛していないのかもしれないし、その人が本当に恐ろしい、悪い人なのかもしれない。

So, what do you do? Well, you break up with them. 

で、どうするの？別れを切り出します。

Right, you say, “I don't  want to be with you anymore.” 

そうですね、"もう一緒にいたいとは思わない "ということですね。

And that's where the expression  comes in 'to dump someone'. 

そこに『誰かを捨てる』という表現が出てくるんです。

So, when you tell your boyfriend or girlfriend, “I don't want to be with you anymore,” you  

だから、彼氏や彼女に「もう一緒にいたいとは思わない」と言っても、それは

are dumping them. Okay, so let's look at these examples first. 

は捨てています。さて、それではまずこれらの例を見てみましょう。

He dumped me. Hmm, he dumped me. 

彼に振られました。うーん、彼は私を振った。

This is a sad situation, right? Maybe my boyfriend didn't love me anymore,  

これは悲しい状況ですよね。彼氏はもう私を愛していなかったのかもしれません。

or maybe I did something that made him angry. So he dumped me. 

あるいは、私が何か怒らせるようなことをしたのかもしれません。それで彼は私を捨てた。

He doesn't want to be with me any longer. Hmm, 'I dumped him'. 

彼はもう私と一緒にいたいと思っていません。うーん、『彼を捨てた』か。

The next sentence, 'I dumped him'. This one is not so bad. 

次の文、『私は彼を捨てた』。これはそんなに悪くない。

Maybe my boyfriend was really  bad, or he lied too much. 

私の彼氏は本当に悪い人だったのかもしれないし、嘘をつきすぎたのかもしれない。

So I kicked him. I got rid of him. 

だから私は彼を蹴った。彼を追い出しました

I dumped him. Okay. 

私は彼を捨てました。そうですか。

So, let's look at some more  example sentences together.

'She dumped him because he lied to her.'

because she's getting fat.' 'He dumped me I'm so sad.'

'He dumped me I'm so sad.' 

彼に振られた......とても悲しい」。
