And, yeah, I would rather be in bed today than be in the office we use would rather plus a verb to say what we would ideally prefer to do.

そして、I would rather be in bed today than be in office......would ratherに動詞を加えて、「理想的にはこうしたい」という意味で使います。

We can also use than to introduce a contrasting idea.

また、対照的なアイデアを紹介するのにthanを使うこともできます。

So, for example, I would rather drink tea than drink coffee.

だから、例えば、コーヒーを飲むよりも紅茶を飲みたい。

And I would rather watch TV than do my homework.

そして、宿題をするよりもテレビを見ていたい。
