  • so, guys, Zach gave me his cold.

  • Actually, we think it's actually like the flu.

  • We've had it for several days.

  • We both had fevers.

  • We both just like men like Okay, I'm somewhat healthy.

  • I'll take care of you now and vice versa.

  • And so we're both, like, still, like, not completely healthy.

  • But I still wanted to post a video.

  • And so this one, I think, will really help a lot of people.

  • I know that it's something that I want to look back on and watch and remember these tips just for my own sake.

  • So I hope that they really help.

  • But these are five ways that you can reduced dress this year.

  • All of these, I think, are really achievable.

  • They're not gonna cost any money or, you know, like they're just going to make you more at peace and have less anxiety this year.

  • So, first of all, not everything is avoidable when it comes to stress.

  • There's just moments in life which are just naturally stressful.

  • We have, like tax season coming up, for instance, and just the paperwork and stuff can be a lot.

  • Or just maybe school.

  • You've got deadlines.

  • You've got tests.

  • Whatever it is, some of that's just unavoidable.

  • But if you are at your desk, you can just make your environment a little bit better.

  • If you can just set the right mood, it can make it so much better.

  • So if you have a messy desk that's already going to kind of like exacerbate whatever feelings that you have, so just tidying up your desk space a little bit, lighting a candle, making some tea.

  • These are things that I like to do every morning.

  • It's just, you know, make tea, light a candle, have a clean desk, fresh start to the day.

  • And that's really how I just tackle my day the next week.

  • That I like to reduce stress is through exercise.

  • I love to go trail running.

  • As you might know, after a good trail run.

  • I just feel so much better like the world is at peace.

  • That's what I do for his.

  • Act two is if he's ever having a bad day, I'm like, Just go on a trail run.

  • You'll feel so much better and he always comes back and like the best mood.

  • And so that's one thing that I love to do.

  • But honestly, this past week, even though I've had the flu, I have just made an effort to do a little bit of exercise every day.

  • Just, you know, my 20 minutes of yoga like gentle yoga or light cardio, very light audios little as I could possibly do because I just felt awful.

  • But having that routine was so good and just made me feel better, just, like, moved all the fluids around and just made me feel more of a healthy person.

  • You know, it just uplifted my mood, of course, the endorphins and all that like there's physiological reasons why exercise makes you feel better.

  • Just don't overdo it.

  • Like if I was to do a hard core spin class, which might be perfect for you, I think I would just feel anxious and it would raise my cortisol and wouldn't do so well for me.

  • So, like, I have to think about ways that I like to exercise that kind of bring me some peace, and this is kind of how I tackle my exercise.

  • But yeah, I just do what's right for you.

  • The right amount everybody's different.

  • Number three is to reduce caffeine intake as a previous Bree.

  • So this just pains me to say, But I really do mean it Like when I have had too much coffee.

  • I just feel jittery.

  • I don't feel capable of like doing what I have to dio and it just makes me feel stress.

  • And I end up taking deep breaths just because I'm just way too caffeinated.

  • What I do like to do is I won't do like full strength coffee if you just you coffee is your thing or else what I like to do is get espresso instead of the brewed coffee because that has less caffeine in it.

  • Naturally, Number four is to avoid procrastination at all costs.

  • And I almost didn't include this one because I thought like nobody intentionally is a procrastinator.

  • But it is something that creeps up on you unintentionally.

  • So what I really mean by avoid procrastination is like write down everything possible that you have to do that day and just put it down on paper and then, like, go to your calendar and, like, make those things action items in your day and schedule enough time to do those things in your day, and you might not get them all done that day because you just looked at your calendar that morning.

  • You're like, there's no way I'm gonna get it all done.

  • So just prioritizing and you know, time management skills, like really focus in on that and find a system that works for you.

  • And that's how I avoid procrastination.

  • And then also I feel like procrastination is also saying, overwhelmed.

  • There's some days where I feel like I need 10 of me like an army of clones, that I can just have go and tackle everything that I need to have done.

  • But of course, that's not possible.

  • So so what I try to remember is that everything is going to get done in time just because I have to do it all.

  • I might try to delegate some things, but I'm going to get it done.

  • And with the right amount of time management, it's going to happen.

  • So, in essence, avoid procrastination at all costs and just know that it's going to happen.

  • That's my advice, and that leads me to the fifth point, which is learning to say no.

  • This was so hard for me to learn because I used to say yes to absolutely everything.

  • You know, I let people down when I did that, where I would take way too long and people would be like, Where is this thing that we talked about that I asked for?

  • I'm like, Oh, I didn't do it because I like to say yes, and I like to promise things and make people feel good, But the thing is that I'm just gonna let them down.

  • And so Zach actually top this to me through time, like just being married to him has really helped me to take on what he's always done, which is to just say no to things.

  • He only says yes.

  • Two things he knows he can commit Thio and everything else.

  • Hughes kind of gun shy about like, I'm not going to promise that to somebody if I'm not gonna, like, 100% deliver.

  • So that's what I've learned, and it's made me live up to the things I commit.

  • People know that if I say yes to something, they're going to get it.

  • And so that's really just all in an effort of being intentional about what I commit to and learning to say no.

  • And those are my five tips to reduce stress.

  • I hope that it really helps.

  • And just I think that the way to remember all of these five things is just take time in the morning, get organized, get a clean desk and remember that it's all going to get done and I'll see you guys next time.

  • Bye.

so, guys, Zach gave me his cold.
