And it's a reboot of the ABC show.

Did you ever think you'd be hosting that?

It's so cool.

My career has taken me in like the weirdest places.

I thought I was just going to be a theater actor for the longest

time.

And then all of a sudden I was on Modern Family.

So I've just always gone with the flow.

And this was one of those things that came to me.

And I was like, why me?

And like they explained why they thought I'd be a good host.

I was like, that sounds about right.

I think I would be too.

And it was really fun.

It was really fun.

It's so out of my comfort zone.

But I had a great time doing it.

And so the thing I'm fascinated about, it takes five

days to put a house together?

We build these homes in five days.

Yeah.

And I thought we--

Well that's insane.

I know.

I know.

Like it takes me like five days to find someone to help

me fix a toilet.

[LAUGHTER]

But five days.

Wow.

I hope the quality is good.

There's always a little bit of a punch list at the end.

But I was looking around, and it looked really good.

Because I was looking for that, though.

Wait a minute.

The punch list takes a year.

Yeah.

It's a very long punch list.

No, no.

They do an amazing job.

Because like thousands of volunteers

descend upon this town to help build this house.

And you shot it over the summer.

Yes.

How was that?

August to September.

Hot.

Oh my God.

Very, very hot.

Up in Northern California where it was just very toasty.

And when you're on TV, there's, always

someone powdering you down.

And you never meant to look shiny or sweaty at all.

I'm just sweat stains everywhere.

Like no one cares.

Now listen.

You're going back to Broadway, right?

I am.

Yeah.

In what play?

Take Me Out.

Yes!

[CHEERING]

Yes.

I'm very, very excited.

And the last time I was on Broadway,

I was doing a one man show the same time you were doing,

basically a one man show on Broadway.

Right.

And this guy, tell me your name?

[LAUGHTER]

This guy, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, is on his phone.

We're both doing one man shows on Broadway.

On his phone, takes a video.

And as he's walking, filming himself, my picture, my marquee

comes, with my stupid face in it.

And you're like, ugh, one man shows.

Ugh.

[LAUGHTER]

It was so funny.

Or something like that.

But anyway, I'm so proud of you.

I can't wait to see this show.

I'm going to fly out and see it opening night.

I would love to do that.

Yes, please be there.
