to feel like doing at a given time and today I received a new Iphone 5S and I am about

to get it set up on Virgin Mobile because Virgin Mobile's service is super duper cheap

which is great because you can save some money.

So I'm going to walk through how to go about doing that you are going to receive a number

of different things in your box when you get your phone obviously the phone box which is

already unboxed which we don't need to see that because that's really boring but then

you are also going to get this little card here it says do not discard so you want to

probably follow those instructions and not discard it because inside you get this little

doodad which is I guess kind of a simcard that has to go on the phone so I've never

inserted one of those before but we are going to do that in a little bit.

So let's get started the first thing you can do is you can actually peel off the back of

this sticker on your packaging and it will walk you through exactly what you have to

do but you can also just go to the Virgin site and start going through the information

there so really all you need is your serial number from the back of the box and I'm going

to put that into that computer now.

One thing that you are going to want to note with the Iphone is that you want to put in

the IMEI/MEID number as oppose to the serial number otherwise it won't work but that's

just right on the back of the box as well and then you are going to put in the ICCID

and that is card number for your simcard here which is should be on the back or could be

on your box.

One thing to note with the ICCID that's on the back of this card it's the number that's

right below your barcode up there I thought perhaps it was the bottom set of numbers but

it actually is that first long among the numbers that you see then you go through and put in

your customer ID and all that good stuff.

Okay so I was able to get my phone set up on Virgin however I still need to insert my

simcard into the phone and theoretically there should be a tool to do that however it doesn't

look like they provided me one so I was going to use a push pin like this but the internet

told me that that's a bad idea so I'm going to try and use a paper clip which they recommend

probably the best thing to do is also power down the Iphone just to be sure.

It seems to be releasing it I'm going to go back to my paper clip actually paper clip

seems to work best, you use the paper clip folks then you just pull this out and you've

got your little card holder here okay and as you can see I've popped my simcard out

of its original card holder in here put it in the carrier and I'll just push this in

here and it's now straight in the place which is really, really handy dandy and let's try

turning this bad boy on and see if it doesn't explode.

So that is basically it all you have to do is get that simcard in there and then you

can go through setting up your I phone manually and that's how you switch over to Virgin,

one thing you probably want to do after you switch over is Virgin automatically gives

you a new phone number and on their website you can go and transfer your old number from

your old carrier to Virgin which makes life a heck of a lot easier so that's basically
