so hello people here you going my name is Glenn and today we're going to talk
about these Australian $1 coins so if you're just new to this channel and you
like coins then you I've asked you to subscribe because I like to make coins
from countries from around the world but I'm based in Australia so I make a lot
of it Australian coin videos and today we're gonna look at the first strange
commemorative $1.00 coin so the $1.00 coin was first introduced in 1984 do I
have a commemorative coin so here we have the first $1.00 Australian coin and
this one is actually just the kangaroo type so has the 5 kangaroos doesn't
matter what species of kangaroo is there you can actually they look like a
generic kangaroo so there could be a eastern-western breaking group it could
be a Wallaroo there could be a redneck wallaby they could be rectangular could
be anything but that was the first coin issue in that denomination before that
was the picnic so in 1986 they actually introduced an international year of
peace as you can see it has doves and it has a reef thin air so it symbolizes the
United Nations and if you look at the United Nations flag it also has the reef
as well which the globe eat has a value of $1 in two hands so obviously the
hands are holding the bird and they let the bird go symbolizing freedom and
peace on the other side of the coin is just the ft of queen elizabeth ii so
these are the higher grades i've actually got in circulation most likely
is that you if you get one of these coins you'll get it in this great so
this is quite circulated as you can see it's quite worn coin has a
dings and bangs a lot of coin damage and it's muled as well so oh this one I made
video before this is a an error coin the actual metal is flaking office so there
must have been an impurity or of or probably improper mixing of the metals
because this is many aluminium has some bronze and the hesitant in so there's
interrupted milling sorry I was a bit wrong it's 92% aluminium sorry 90%
copper 6% aluminium and 2 percent nickel don't know why I said it was 9 ability
to sit aluminium now I just got to be confused you get like that when you get
old you just get confused sometimes leave me alone so that was the joke so
the mintage for this coin is actually 25 point 2 million coins so it's actually
quite a high mintage in circulation and you can it come across this coin quite
often if you search your coin Lots so in articulate the grade the value of this
coin is roughly about 5 Australian dollars and you can quite easily get on
eBay so Australia's first 1 dollar commemorative coin commemorating piece
it's quite a lot minted so it should be easy for you to get you could collect
Australian coins anyway I like to thank you very much for watching this coin
video and having an awesome time collecting coins so like to say thank
you very much awesome conflict in time people bye bye
