With a long dark season and 24-hour sunlight in the summertime​, it requires a unique individual to be able to survive the Arctic.

I am from Nunavut.

I wanted to invite people to the Arctic.

I want people to know we exist up here.

And I wanted to be able to show people down south what it is like up here.

Iqaluit was captured with the Google tracker.

イカルイトはGoogleトラッカーでキャプチャされました。

We hiked the whole city of Iqaluit in the span of four days.

私たちは4日間、イカルイトの街全体をハイキングしました。

With the tracker you are able to follow trails, you can hop on a snow mobile, or a quad or even on a dog team.

トレイルをたどることができるトラッカーを使用すると、スノーモービル、四輪バイク、さらには犬のチームが引くソリに飛び乗ることができます。

Traditionally, people used to rely completely on dog sleds.

従来、人々は犬ぞりに完全に頼っていました。

There's still a handful of people that go out hunting by dog sled, but that's more for fun nowadays.

犬ぞりで狩りに出かける人はまだ少数いますが、最近はもっと楽しむためのものになっています。

The world needs to see unique places.

世界はユニークな場所を見る必要があります。

And Canada's Arctic is most definitely a unique place.

そして、カナダの北極圏は間違いなくユニークな場所です。

Every community is not accessible by road.

すべての地域に道路でアクセスできるわけではありません。

You have to fly in and out, and nobody just passes through.

飛行機で行ったり来たりする必要があり、誰もただ通り抜けるだけではないのです。

It feels good knowing that people all over the world can finally see Canada's Arctic as just amazing.

世界中の人々がやっとカナダの北極圏を、ただ素晴らしいものと見做すことができると知っているのは良い気分です。
