I think the book is very worth reading.

I'm a night person, but I've been paying more attention to sleep.

This guy is super persuasive about: if you want to lose weight, get good sleep.

著者は、痩せたければしっかりと睡眠を取るように強く指摘していますし、

If you want to really learn things, get good sleep.

学習効果を高めたければ、よく寝ろというわけです。

He literally tells you, if you're reading this when you should be sleeping, please close the book.

それどころか、文字通り「寝る時間なのに今この本を読んでいる人は、本を閉じて寝なさい」とも書いてあるんです。

"An American Marriage" by Tayari Jones.

This is about a black couple in the south and an injustice that totally reshapes the lives of the husband and the wife and eventually dooms their marriage.

この本は南部の黒人カップルが不公平さにさらされて、夫婦として暮らす中で困難を余儀なくされて最後には結婚生活が破たんする様子を描いています。

The husband and wife are put into a difficult position.

この夫婦は難しい試練に直面します。

You wouldn't call it a happy ending because they've been through so much.

本当に多くのツラい出来事が降りかかってくるので、ハッピーエンドとは言えないですね。

"Prepared" by Diane Tavenner.

Diane Tavenner著の「Prepared」

She asked the right questions about middle school and high school systems.

この著者は、中学・高校のシステムに対して鋭い視点を持っていて

What she's done is really amazing.

実際に素晴らしい改革を実現してみせたんです。

Not many people are brave enough to create a new school system.

ここまで大胆に新しい学校のシステムを作り上げられる人はなかなかいませんから。

You have self-confidence, the ability to learn, the ability to manage your time, a sense of what you want to go and do.

自信を持って、学習能力もあり、時間の管理もしっかりとできて進むべき道が分かっているのに

Sometimes, kids will get discouraged.

生徒は自分にがっかりすることもありますから。

You just hope your kid gets curious about something.

できれば、興味を持つ何かに出会えれば素晴らしいですよね。

「そんなバカな話があるか」と言いたくなりますよね。

I found these books to be really clever and engaging.
