Hi, it's Alfredo. During the summer before my senior year of college, I spent eight weeks
in Quebec, which is a French-speaking province in Canada. I was nervous ahead of time because
had never spoken with a native speaker of French. In fact, before the trip, the only
people that I had spoken French with were my French teachers and the other students
from my French classes at college.
When I finally started speaking with native speakers of French in the town of Matane,
it was a thrilling experience. I found that because of the vocabulary and the grammar
that I had learned, I could speak without pausing very much at all.
