字幕表 動画を再生する 英語字幕をプリント Hello. This is Jack from tofluency.com, and in this English lesson, you're going to see some third conditional examples. You're also going to learn how to use it and then, at the end of the video, you can practice it too. So, here is an example of me using the third conditional. “If that guy had given me the correct directions, then I wouldn't have met my wife.” In the video, I said, “If that guy had given me the correct directions, then I wouldn't have met my wife.” Now, in the full video, I was telling the story of how I met my wife. I left the hostel, where I was staying and the guy gave me the wrong directions to the language school. So, I went to the wrong language school. But I met my wife in this language school. So, if that guy had given me the correct directions, then I wouldn't have met my wife. We can say that we use the third conditional to talk about hypothetical situations in the past. And we do this by using the past perfect + would have. If that guy had given me the correct directions, then I wouldn't have met my wife. Here are two more examples of the third conditional. "I would have gone if you had told me." You didn't tell me and I didn't go but I would have gone if you had told me. "If I had more time, I would have finished it." I didn't have more time and I didn't finish it. Now it's time to practice the third conditional. When I was younger, I found a wallet with $200 in it. I was on a beach and I was looking for crabs. I was probably around 11.. 10 or 11. And I found a wallet with $200 in it. I'm not going to tell you what I did, but my question for you is this: what would you have done in my situation. So, leave your answers below this video, thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time.
