In this video, I will introduce the “consonants” of the Hanyu Pinyin phonetic system. There are 23 consonants in Hanyu Pinyin. The consonants are divided into 8 parts in relation to how you use your mouth, tongue, lips and teeth to articulate and pronounce the sounds. Try to make the sound with your lips. Please pronounce it after me "b" "p" "m" For Part 2, there is only one symbol. Try to make the sound with your upper front teeth touching your lower lip. Please pronounce it after me "f" For part 3, there are four symbols. Try to make the sound with the front tip of your tongue touching the roof of your mouth directly behind your front teeth. Please pronounce it after me "d" "t" "n" "l" For part 4, there are three symbols. Try to make the sound from the root or back of your tongue. Now, let's have a quick review for all 23 consonants. This is the end of the Consonants class for today. I hope you enjoyed it. Please also practice pronouncing the Consonants as often as you can.
