One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls who were laden with the seven last plagues came,

失われた人のために。孤独な人のため。を探している人のために。発見されている方のために。

and he spoke with me saying, "Come here, I will show you the wife, the Lamb's bride."

あなたがたの兄弟であり、共にイエスの苦難と御国と忍耐とにあずかっている、わたしヨハネは、

And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain,

神の言とイエスのあかしとのゆえに、パトモスという島にいた。

and showed me that great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

ところが、わたしは、主の日に御霊に感じた。

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

最後の七つの災害が満ちている七つの鉢を持っていた七人の御使のひとりがきて、

Having the glory of God: and her light was like to a stone most precious, even like a jasper-stone, clear as crystal.

わたしに語って言った、「さあ、きなさい。小羊の妻なる花嫁を見せよう」。

The city was pure gold, like pure glass.

この御使は、わたしを御霊に感じたまま、大きな高い山に連れて行き、

The city had a wall great and high, and the building of the wall of it was of jasper.

聖都エルサレムが、神の栄光のうちに、神のみもとを出て天から下って来るのを見せてくれた。

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

夫のために着飾った花嫁のように用意

And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones.

その都の輝きは、高価な宝石のようであり、透明な碧玉のようであった。

The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, and emerald;

都はすきとおったガラスのような純金で造られていた。

the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl;

それには大きな、高い城壁があって、

the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

城壁は碧玉で築かれ、

The great high wall had twelve gates.

また都の城壁には十二の土台があり、それには小羊の十二使徒の十二の名が書いてあった。

The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl.

都の城壁の土台は、さまざまな宝石で飾られていた。

And at the gates twelve angels;

第一の土台は碧玉、

and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

第二はサファイヤ、

On the east three gates; on the north three gates;

第三はめのう、

on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

第四は緑玉、

He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates and its walls.

第五は縞めのう、

The city lies foursquare, its length is as great as its breadth.

第六は赤めのう、

he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand stadia. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

第七はかんらん石、

He measured its wall, one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.

第八は緑柱石、

He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the midst of its street.

第九は黄玉石、

The street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

第十はひすい、

On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month.

第十一は青玉、

The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

第十二は紫水晶であった。

I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.

それには大きな、高い城壁があって、十二の門があり、

The city has no need for the sun, neither of the moon, to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

十二の門は十二の真珠であり、門はそれぞれ一つの真珠で造られ、

There will be no more night, and they need no lamp light, neither sunlight;

それらの門には、十二の御使がおり、

for the Lord God will give them light. They will reign forever and ever.

イスラエルの子らの十二部族の名が、それに書いてあった。

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

東に三つの門、

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

北に三つの門、

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it:

南に三つの門、

and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

西に三つの門があった。

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

わたしに語っていた者は、都とその門と城壁とを測るために、金の測りざおを持っていた。

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,

都は方形であって、その長さと幅とは同じである。

"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

彼がその測りざおで都を測ると、一万二千丁であった。長さと幅と高さとは、いずれも同じである。

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;

また城壁を測ると、百四十四キュビトであった。これは人間の、すなわち、御使の尺度によるのである。

and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

御使はまた、水晶のように輝いているいのちの水の川をわたしに見せてくれた。この川は、神と小羊との御座から出て、 都の大通りの中央を流れている。

And he that sat upon throne said,

都の大通りは、すきとおったガラスのような純金であった。

"Behold, I make all things new." And he said unto me, "Write: for these words are true and faithful."

川の両側にはいのちの木があって、十二種の実を結び、その実は毎月みのり、

He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

その木の葉は諸国民をいやす。

I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.

わたしは、この都の中には聖所を見なかった。全能者にして主なる神と小羊とが、その聖所なのである。

He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son."

都は、日や月がそれを照す必要がない。

Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have right to the tree of life, and that they should go in by the gates into the city.

神の栄光が都を明るくし、小羊が都のあかりだからである。

There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

夜は、もはやない。あかりも太陽の光も、いらない。主なる神が彼らを照し、そして、彼らは世々限りなく支配する。

They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb's blood.

のろわるべきものは、もはや何ひとつない。神と小羊との御座は都の中にあり、その僕たちは彼を礼拝し、

Therefore are they before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.

御顔を仰ぎ見るのである。彼らの額には、御名がしるされている。

They will never be hungry, neither thirsty any more; neither will the sun beat on them, nor any heat;

諸国民は都の光の中を歩き、地の王たちは、自分たちの光栄をそこに携えて来る。

for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to the living springs of waters.

都の門は、終日、閉ざされることはない。そこには夜がないからである。

God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

また、御座から大きな声が叫ぶのを聞いた、

"Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work."

「見よ、神の幕屋が人と共にあり、神が人と共に住み、人は神の民となり、神自ら人と共にいまして、

This Spirit and the bride say "Come!"

人の目から涙を全くぬぐいとって下さる。

He who hears, let him say, "Come!"

もはや、死もなく、悲しみも、叫びも、痛みもない。先のものが、すでに過ぎ去ったからである」。

He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.

すると、御座にいますかたが言われた、

He who testifies these things says,

「見よ、わたしはすべてのものを新たにする」。また言われた、「書きしるせ。これらの言葉は、信ずべきであり、まことである」。

"Yes, I come quickly."

そして、わたしに仰せられた、

Amen! Come Lord Jesus.

「事はすでに成った。わたしは、アルパでありオメガである。初めであり終りである。かわいている者には、いのちの水の泉から価なしに飲ませよう。
