  • something, he or she puts in a lot of effort to try to keep up with the most

  • recent facts or latest news about a situation. Okay. Let's continue . The word

  • abreast by itself is an adverb meaning next to each other or about like the same

  • level with something. So if you keep abreast of the news or information you

  • try to keep up with or stay level with the latest changing news or information

  • about a subject. Okay. So let's give some examples here example. Number one. I watch

  • the news every day because I like to keep abreast of the latest news. Yeah. You

  • often hear people say that. That's why they watch the news. They want to keep

  • abreast with what's happening in the world or you know , the latest situations.

  • All right. Number two. If you buy stocks, you need to keep abreast with the state of

  • the economy. Yeah. So no matter what stocks you buy, the economy could

  • possibly have a serious effect upon your stocks. Either going up or going down.

  • So if you're somebody that's really into stocks, you can't just focus on the stock

  • itself, you got to stop focus on the economy and maybe even a little politics

  • as well. Number three. Many women buy fashion magazines, so they can keep
