The lion's share can refer to the greatest part or the largest part of something. Okay. Or the second meaning we have here. If someone gets the lion's share, he or she gets the largest part of something. So it's used a lot in this way. We always say somebody got the lion's share of something or, or somebody does the lion share of something. Okay. Yeah. So it could be different, different verbs could be used with this. Let's continue. The origin of this noun phrase comes from one of Aesop's fables. So yeah this is another one that comes from an Aesop fable named \"Lion and Wilderness Partners in the Hunt. \" So the lion in the wilderness you know, out in the wild there. And he had all the animals working together to catch this other prey in the hunt. All right let's continue. In the story, all the animals work together to catch a lot of prey. You know the hunt the poor hunted animals that are going to be eaten. When the animals gathered to split the prey, the lion declared himself to be superior. You know, he's above everybody else and that he deserves all the spoils for himself. So he wanted it all. He didn't want to share. This is one where sometimes we say you know is there honor among thieves. It kind of reminds you a little bit like that. But anyway he wanted everything. I think somebody I think I read there's two versions of the story. One I think one of the animals tries to separate all the animals and share it very evenly and then the lion just kills and eats him and then nobody else fights him. But either way in the end the lion ends up with all of them. So the lion got the lion's share. That's where the phrase comes from. All right. Let's just give some examples here. Example number one. Her husband does the lion's share of the cooking in their household. So maybe he cooks most nights. So maybe he cooks like five times a week. He cooks the majority of the time. He , he does the lion's share of the cooking. All right. Number two. That poker player won the lion's share of the game. So and how many games there were but he won the majority of them. He won most of them. So you could say he won the lion's share. Yes. We could say well that movie . We were supposed to have movie here. That movie snatched the lion's share of the Awards. It was nominated for. So if it was nominated for eight or nine Awards. Maybe it won five or six. So they got the lion's share. They got most of them. Okay. Good. And the last example here. His wife does the lion's share of the cooking and this is the way we often see it. Okay. Anyway I hope you got it. I hope it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
