If someone sleeps something off, he or she gets rid of some unpleasant condition by getting extra sleep. So we often might hear that one. Or number two if someone sleeps off the effects of alcohol, I think alcohol is number one, especially a hangover. We might often hear somebody slept or tries to sleep off a hangover. But sleep off the effects of alcohol or drugs , he or she tries to sleep until the effects wear off. Okay. So let's take a look at some examples here. Example number one. I had a really bad cold, so I took some medicine and stayed in bed all weekend to sleep it off. Try to sleep off this cold you know, stay in bed until this cold just went away and you felt better. So you try to sleep it off. Okay. Or number two Jack woke up with a hangover from drinking the night before. Yeah. So maybe he went to a nightclub or a bar and he woke up with a hangover. So he decided to go back to bed to sleep it off . Yeah, just go to sleep and hopefully by the time I wake up again maybe the headache will have reduced or gone away. He's just trying to sleep it off. All right. Good. And the third one here. The side effects from that medicine made me very drowsy. You know, like feeling like yawning drowsy. So I went to bed to sleep it off. All right. So in all these cases, you try to sleep it off until the condition goes away , especially alcohol, especially drinking. Okay. Anyway, I hope you got it. I hope it's clear. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
