  • Hey and welcome to ChicPeek! I'm Jade Seah and I am a shoe addict. I admit

  • - I love my shoes! Because with shoes, there's never a 'fat day', there's never a 'does-my-butt-look-big-in-this'

  • - uh uh. Plus shoes immediately change up your outfit.

  • So they really can make or break your look. We have flats, we have Mary Janes, we have

  • booties, wedges - the problem though, with having so many different types of shoes is

  • the very important question - what shoe for what look?

  • So let's start off with your 'everyday shoe' and the most basic of the lot - the flat.

  • Now even within the 'flats' category, the choices are overwhelming. There are things

  • like sneakers; you have ballet flats; you have T-bar flats; you have pointed-toe flats,

  • pointy flats....if you have no idea what I'm talking about, well - you know!

  • So when you're faced with a sea of shoes, to narrow down your choice I find that it

  • helps to think about shoes in a certain category as sharing certain characteristics. For example,

  • for flats I think of them as being cute, and slightly more on the casual side.

  • So for this example, I've picked a pair of T-bar flats that aren't as common as the ballet

  • flat or sneaker. But I think this style is going to be a lot more popular as 1920s fashion

  • comes back in vogue. And I've chosen to wear it with this dress

  • which is kind of like a day dress - this is what I mean about shoes really changing up

  • your look. Now if I were to wear this dress with pumps, with say a lot of bling, it's

  • going to look a lot dressier. But wearing it with these cute shoes makes it perfect

  • for a day hanging out with the girls. So think cute and casual when pairing your

  • flats; things like shorts, jeans dresses all work well.

  • So moving up a notch, we're going to go into the low heel, also known as trainer heels

  • or even kitten heels. So these heels are no more than two inches

  • high, and they were quite popular in the early 2000s, although over the years they're kind

  • of fallen out of favour. My heel-loving friends, who are usually quite

  • vertically challenged, have said, "What's the point; it's so low!"

  • But don't be too quick to write off the kitten heel; there's a certain elegance that comes

  • with it. And of course, this style was popularised by Audrey Hepburn, so it's kind of HER look.

  • So for kitten heels the buzzwords are streamlined and elegant, so you want to keep your look

  • in line with this theme. So I picked this midi dress in a very basic,

  • solid colour, to let the pretty print of the shoe be the subtle focus of this look.

  • Also, this dress is quite exposed at the back, so picking a lower heel helps to tone down

  • the sexiness of the outfit. It's also really comfortable!

  • Remember to keep your look streamlined and elegant. I wouldn't wear anything too baggy

  • or too tight with this; and generally though, this heel also works better if you are long

  • and lean. But do remember that Audrey Hepburn rocked

  • this look, so you can as well! It's just all in the proportions.

  • So remember to subscribe to my channel for more tips.

  • Also, if you want me to talk about any other shoe in detail, let me know in the comment

  • box below. You can also catch up with me on Twitter,

  • Instagram and on Facebook. See you next time!
