字幕表 動画を再生する 英語字幕をプリント Hey guys This video is gonna be about eight YouTube channels that I watch on a regular basis and they all have to do with linguistics Languages language learning etc. And of course I watch other YouTube videos, but This video is gonna be specifically about my language learning channels that I watch all the time The first of which let me focus it in there on the laptop the first of which is called The Ling space and this is a YouTube channel That's all dedicated to linguistics and it's very interesting And it's not super academic. It's easy enough for anyone to understand. You don't have to have a background in linguistics It's run by a guy named Moti Lieberman. I don't know if you can really see there on the screen But he lives in Montreal. I think he studied at at McGill University and Majored in linguistics, and now he just makes videos about all kinds of different stuff related to linguistics So he has videos on semantics pragmatics pronouns morphology syntax phonetics phonology general linguistics historical linguistics socio linguistics Here I see. He has an interview with Steven Pinker, which I haven't seen this one yet. So Actually now I'm really excited to see that because Stevens pink Steven Pinker is a big name in the linguistics community And he's great. So if you've seen any of my videos on linguistics if You have any interest in linguistics if you have a basic knowledge and you want to learn more, this is great This channel is perfect for anyone who's just interested in the way languages work The next channel I want to point out is called French sounds and this is run by a lady named Carol, I believe or Cheryl, I think her name is Cheryl and She has a PhD in French linguistics or French phonology, I believe and that's exactly What her channel is. So if you're learning French and you want to learn how to pronounce things better in French this would be gonna be a great channel to Look up and watch for yourself if you're not Then hopefully you can find something similar in the language that you're learning, you know, if you're learning Spanish or German or something You know, go ahead and do a youtube search for youtubers that do German linguistics or Russian linguist Russian phonology Or whatever it is that you're learning she is super great because She uses the IPA and goes through each individual sound in French and then different combinations of sounds If you don't know the IPA, I have a few videos on that. I have a whole series that I'm doing on linguistics right now that has a video on Phonology and one on phonetics So she just does a really good job of breaking down the different sounds and teaching you how to pronounce them in a simple way because You know a lot of times When you're learning a new language you don't always know exactly how to pronounce the sound so you don't know what to do with your throat what to do with your Mouth well, you know how to move your tongue in your mouth She has a PhD in this so she was really good at explaining exactly what you have to do when you speak French Next channel that I want to point out is called the polyglot gathering now This is pretty well known It's a gathering that usually meets in Europe once a year in different cities. They had been in Berlin for a few years now I think they're in Slovakia or somewhere and there's just a lot of big-name polyglots, you know Richard Simcott, I think Steve Kaufman usually goes Benny Lewis Luca you know all the really famous polyglots that you've probably have seen their videos, you know They all show up and then for I don't know a week or so they have this conference and They just do different Workshops different events, and there's a lot of seminars and different topics that have to do with language learning And being a polyglot And it's just really interesting. You can actually watch all of the videos for free here on their Channel. So Let's see here we have one that's taught by Benny. It looks like that one's in Russian Can you learn language while sleeping, you know, they have a bunch of big-name polyglots. Here's Steve Kaufman talking about LingQ A lot of the really famous polyglots talking about different areas of language learning that they're experts in And these videos are all quite long. The shortest is about half an hour and some of them are you know over an hour long, but it's kind of nice I like to just put one on and listen to it while I'm doing something else Maybe you know while I'm getting ready for bed or something and then you just you learn little tidbits about certain aspects of language learning From the experts. So this is a really great channel. I watch it quite often The next channel I want to point out is Ted en Español And this is essentially just TED talks but Spanish so there's an entire Channel dedicated to TED talks - it's like the TEDx Channel but only videos that are in Spanish and if you don't know what TEDx is it's essentially just Just short little seminars little messages I don't know you'd call them short videos where they get a lot of experts to come on and just do a short video on Random topics in their field, you know, they'll do one on psychology or biology Political science Doesn't even always have to be super academic. Sometimes it can just be something really fun you know, they have musicians come on and talk about something really quick and brief but in their field and You know a lot of times they're just really interesting short little mind opening videos And this channel doesn't actually really have to do with language learning but because it's in a Spanish It's it's in a language that I'm trying to maintain. It's just really nice to have that as a resource that I can just Sit back and just watch something and be entertained In the language that I'm learning that I'm trying to maintain obviously if you're gonna watch this video this channel then you need to have pretty solid basis in Spanish a lot of their Their videos do have subtitles so that makes it a little easier And if you're not learning Spanish, then I would recommend looking for something similar and the language that you're learning Next Channel, I want to point out is evildea. And if you don't know who this guy is you need to watch him He is an Esperantist. He does a lot of videos on Esperanto related subjects Usually in Esperanto, but with English subtitles and sometimes he does videos in English and So a lot of his videos are actually on Esperanto related subjects But he also does a lot of just daily life videos talking about his life You know talking about his travels what he's doing, but it's in Esperanto, which is a great way of kind of doing a passive Maintenance or you know maintaining your language passively Just by watching the vlogger. He's very entertaining. He's quite dorky actually And he just I don't know if you can see the different, let me see if I can He just he's just weird. I can't zoom in I was gonna try to show you his face right there He's just he's weird but it's fun. It's entertaining and I really enjoy watching him. So I recommend watching Evildea, even if you don't speak Esperanto, like I said, he usually does subtitles. So that's not a big issue Next channel I want to talk about is called Deva yoga Or I should say Diva yoga it's Not a language learning channel. This is a yoga channel, but I enjoy watching it because I'm learning French and specifically she is a French speaker from Canada which is the dialect of French that I am most interested in learning and there are a ton of of channels that are dedicated to yoga in French, but I like to watch her channel because She first of all because she speaks the dialect that I I wants to speak and also because she does Subtitles on some of her videos so it just makes it easier to comprehend what I'm able to read and hear what I'm reading Um, so I watch her videos quite often not always her videos, you know, sometimes I watch other ones as well I usually just search for You know "yoga avec sous titres" or "yoga with subtitles" and I'm you know, I do it a lot of times in the morning after waking up and it's just nice way to kind of wake up in the morning and Relax, and be rejuvenated and learn languages at the same time. This is something that I already want to do It's a great way of adding language learning to my daily routine, especially since yoga video is typically you can just Watch what they're doing in the video Without and so you're not missing anything even if you don't understand everything that they say you can follow along pretty well even if you can't understand 100% of what they're saying as a matter of fact if you're just interested in doing yoga, then you could For the most part you don't even need to speak the language in order to follow along and do what they're doing now You know, you're not gonna understand everything and there probably will be some things that you just misunderstand if you don't speak the language but it's a good way to get exposure and You know It doesn't hurt to do it in a foreign language because you can just watch what they're doing in the video and follow along Loashu I don't know if that's exactly how you pronounce it and it's actually his channel name is Loashu five hundred and five thousand five zero five zero zero zero This guy is super interesting and He is a polyglot who speaks like I don't even know how many languages guy speaks. It has to be more than 30 Not well though he speaks maybe three or four languages well, and he speaks a ton of languages that he sucks at but The point of his channel is not to be really good at Speaking grammatically, correct the point of his channel is that he's brave He is a bold language learner who goes out and practice his practices his languages on the street And he learns he calls it levelling up whenever he goes out and speaks with someone in their native language He's a very interesting person and I have to say he's not What I would consider to be a great youtuber a great language learner he his His videos, you know, they're not edited very well and he doesn't put a whole... he doesn't seem like he's a great Videographer, but The insights that you get from watching him are just very valuable It's very motivating to watch someone go out and just a lot of times just struggle through a language But you see the reactions of the people that he's speaking to and it's just motivating It makes me want to go out and do the same thing Usually what he does. Is he has like a hidden camera somewhere I think he he has a hat with a hidden camera or something and he goes out and he just videotapes himself speaking To native speakers. He'll go to you know, Asian restaurants or or you know Indian grocery stores Mexican places a lot of times He just goes to the mall and I'll just look for someone to speak his languages with and since he speaks like a billion He's constantly running into people to speak with now a lot of times he only knows how to say like hello How are you? You know, I'm learning Turkish, you know and you watch him struggle and there's usually subtitles so you can follow along with what he's saying But it's just very interesting very motivating now I haven't actually been following him recently because I watched a lot of his videos and he was putting out a ton of live streams And it's basically after a while it is all the same thing He's just going into different restaurants different stores and then just struggling to speak So I stopped following him for a while because it just got to be all the same thing but that that's not to discount his channel because I think he's great and I love his technique and I love his passion and his boldness So I highly recommend checking him out. It's Loashu five zero five zero zero zero And the last channel that I want to bring up is called Lang focus And this is run by a guy named Paul who also seems to be very nerdy about languages because he's just very Intelligent and he knows a whole lot His channel is extremely informative if he does languages every I don't know how often he does them every week or so Let me see you might say up here somewhere This is I'm not sure how often he does videos to be quite honest, but it's quite often I see I get little updates from him and last one was two hours ago two weeks ago three weeks ago yeah, so it looks like he just does about One video a week but very informative videos and usually about a certain language or a Family of languages or something and it's just amazing how much he knows. I think he must have a team of researchers or something to Put out these videos because he just knows a ton and like I said, his videos are extremely informative He gives you all kinds of little details and interesting facts about languages and he's able to cram a whole ton into His videos are usually what 10 15 minutes long at most And so, you know here he has a language on toki pona he has a language on he has a video on Korean how similar are Quebec French and metropolitan French Oh what a few weeks ago, well a few months ago when I was in Spain and I was learning Portuguese I started watching his videos on how similar are Spanish and Portuguese He also had one... how similar are... let's see Where is his other one? How similar are Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese Portuguese? Ton of Videos that are just very interesting very informative and you're gonna learn a lot about different languages by watching his channel So I highly recommend this if you're interested in languages, so that's it I have like I said, I was gonna tell you about eight channels that I watch a lot They had to do with language learning, of course Obviously I didn't get everyone I didn't get all the language channels that I could have mentioned So with that said if you feel like there's some obvious Language learner channel that I left out. Please leave man comments down below I want to hear what your recommendations are for language learning channels because a lot of times You guys will leave me recommendations and you'll leave me little comments and I'll actually learn something for myself So there's a good chance that you'll leave me language learning channels in the comments below of people that I am Unaware of but I will benefit greatly if you let me know who they are So that's it. That's all I have to say in this video. Thanks for watching and we'll see you guys in the next one
