My name is Redd Pepper, I'm a voice over artist.

In the UK, I voice hundreds of movie trailers,

"Men in Black," saving the Earth from the scum of the universe.

so many, I forget half of them, to be honest with you.

I started doing television adverts,

animations, audio books, I do a lot of video games as well

and a lot of them are sound effects,

When I first started doing movie trailers,that was fun:

one man, coming soon to a cinema near you.

Sometimes I do romantic movies . . . in a sleepy town;

時々、ロマンチックな映画を撮るんだ・・・眠たい町で。

sometimes I'm doing horror . . . don't answer the door!

You've got to use your voice;

Very occasionally I get recognized,

Hello, and people look up from behind the newspapers.

The way I got into being a voice artist was kind of strange,

声優になるまでの道のりは、なんだか不思議な感じでした。

I used to drive trains on the London Underground;

ロンドンの地下鉄でよく電車を運転していました。

one morning I was making my announcements,

ある朝、私は自分の発表をしていました。

all stations (passengers) to Harrow, mind the doors.

全駅ハロー行き、ドアに注意。

A television executive was a passenger on my train;

テレビの重役が私の電車に乗っていました。

he got off at the next stop,

彼は次の停留所で降りた

ran up to my cab, we exchanged details;

私のタクシーに駆け寄って詳細を交換しました。

and the rest is history.

I've had some strange experiences as a voice artist,

声優として不思議な経験をしたことがあります。

I was doing a trailer for "Jurassic Park, The Lost World,"

ジュラシック・パーク 失われた世界」の予告編をやっていました。

Steven Spielberg movie and, kindly, they chose me to do the voice in the UK.

スティーブン・スピルバーグの映画と、親切にもイギリスでの声の仕事を選んでくれました。

Something is coming, something big!

何かがやってくる！大きな何かが！

And as I said that, a voice in my headphones said,

そう言っていると、ヘッドフォンの中の声が言った。

"Wow, that's a great voice!"

"うわー、すごい声だ！"

And I didn't recognize it was Steven Spielberg,

そして、スティーブン・スピルバーグだとは気づかなかった。

he was listening in from the States into London.

彼はアメリカからロンドンに向かって盗聴していました。

Well I swore, I said, who the (expletive) is that?

誓って言ったんだよ、誰だよ(吐露)って。

Everybody went crazy in the studio,

スタジオではみんな発狂していました。

"Shh, shh, no, it's Spielberg on the set!"

"シーッ、シーッ、いや、スピルバーグだ！"

I appreciate what I do;

自分の仕事に感謝しています。

I'm still meticulous about what I do;

今でも几帳面に仕事をしています。

I'm still proud of what I do.

今でも誇りに思っています。

I really don't look at it as a job.

本当に仕事としては見ていません。

I'm having fun. It really is a cool job;

楽しんでいます。本当にかっこいい仕事です。

it's gotta be up there with one of the coolest jobs on the planet.
