字幕表 動画を再生する 英語字幕をプリント Hi this is Kim from Put A Cup In It and I'm here with a review and a look at the new Ziggy Cup from Intimina. The Ziggy is unlike a menstrual cup so even though they call it a "Ziggy Cup" I'm gonna call it a "Ziggy" or a "Ziggy Disc." because it isn't a cup... it is a disc that's worn internally, it catches your flow, and the nice part of it is that it's completely reusable. Previous versions of discs on the market have pretty much all been plastic and disposable. This is of course made from super soft silicone- the same silicone that the Intimina products are made from. So my test vagina has been giving this a good run so I'll let you know how that worked out and we even tried "mess-free period sex" which is one of the advertising points that Intimina and other disc makers use. The Ziggy compared to a Flex... a Flex looks exactly the same as an Instead Cup or Soft Cup so if you've seen one disposable disc you've seen them all. Disposable ones are very rigid and they are plastic-y. You would put it in the same as any disc, you would fold it to insert, put it in and try to get it behind your cervix and then push up. Try to hook it and pull it out, dump it, and in this case you would toss. With the Ziggy same principle, you want to fold it up longways like a tampon, put it inside, try to get it behind the cervix, push this lip up, let it sit, and then when you're done you're gonna hook it and try to pull it out, dump it, put it back in. If you saw our video of the Flex Amanda and I reviewed those and it actually was comfortable but removal was our biggest issue with it. And it was very messy. We'll talk about how that went with this because it's reusable so the mess is somewhat magnified... but I'll start with some positives... because I actually did very much TO MY OWN SURPRISE enjoy this product. With a few catches. It is way more comfortable to put in than a disposable disc, partly just the tactile, texture issue of a disposable cup... Just it's very plastic-y, I don't love it. Of course this is also very rigid and hard. The thing I love about menstrual cups, you know, they're very soft... if you pick the right cup for you truly you should feel nothing at all. With the Ziggy Cup it actually was completely undetectable which is what I was hoping for. And because the silicone rim is not as rigid as the plastic rim - putting it in, inserting it, wearing it was super comfortable and I forgot it was even in. It wasn't slipping down, the first two days I really had "nailed it." Knowing my own body so much better as a menstrual cup user than I would have as a tampon user probably made that transition to this cup easier than would have for starting out with this product coming from a tampon or a pad user. Because you really are reaching inside the vaginal canal quite a bit. Of course this is an awesome product if you want to have Mess-Free period sex. Not everybody wants to have period sex without anything keeping the blood from everyone else. Now with the disc I told my husband we were going to try this for period sex and he's all on board because he was feeling very included in this review. We did have period sex on my heavy day, one of my two heavy days, and it was great! You couldn't feel it, it was just like normal regular awesome sex. After sex you're going to go peeeee, you don't want that UTI, and I went to the bathroom and in this case it was a little hot and heavy and I needed a shower. I pulled the disc out and whew it was FULL. So it did the job, there were no leaks, when I wipes after I went to the bathroom after having sex (we're way beyond TMI at this point) wiped and it was completely clear. There was no pink or no red or anything... you know even with all of this it didn't move or budge the cup so that is slipped and leaked which could have been, at that point, quite a disaster because it was a very full disc. So now we've covered the mess-free period sex which is a bonus and a buying point for people. If you want the Ziggy you are plunking down forty bucks. I purchased this myself for forty bucks from Amazon and I'm actually super excited that this exists because I was hoping a reusable version would come out. Now. It is Eco-Friendly, it is Reusable BUT there is a huge But. If you are changing in public this sucks. I had so much fun in a public bathroom in NYC. I was actually feeling super confident about this cup. I wore it with no backup. I had two days, one and a half days or so, of really good no-leak, not a pink tinge, nothing with this Ziggy disc. And so I was like, ok, let's just really give it a try. I got up in the morning, went to the airport, was thinking you know maybe I should check on it before I get on the plane, but I went to the bathroom and everything looked good, no leaks, so I was like I'll readdress this when I get to the hotel. And I actually had planned to change into period underwear at the hotel. I got the hotel and I was starving so I skipped it and said everything is working out great, I'm just gonna go, I'm just gonna throw caution to the wind and explore NYC with the Ziggy Disc in, no back-up, because things were going really good. So I finally got some food then went to the bathroom and I wiped and there was a little pink so I was like hmm.. maybe things slipped, so I reached on in there and of course it sort of diagonal where it's behind your cervix and then against your pubic bone, so I thought maybe it had slipped. So I put a finger in and did this and then I wiped again and I saw more blood and I was like "oh shit." Maybe I fucked that up. Maybe I made it leak. And so one of my very good friends who is well familiar with what I do, I'm sort of narrating my life, coming from the stall, I'm like alright I'm just gonna take it out and put it back in. And it didn't really occur to me what a mess that would be because so far I had been doing it at home and actually doing it in the shower and that works great. So you reach a finger in. Try to hook it and pull it down and try to keep it so where you pull it out you dump it without making a mess but this is flat and really it's just a mess. It's just all bloody and flat and it sort of comes out as you're moving it down depending on how full it is and in this case it was quite full because this was another of my heavy days. It was a disaster. I was trying so hard not to get blood on anything and there's no sink in my stall. So I'm screaming to my friend "oh my god it is everywhere, it is so bad" You can not wipe this clean like a menstrual cup in a public bathroom. So when people ask what do you do with a menstrual cup when you're in a public bathroom I say "take it out, dump it, take some toilet paper and just wipe the inside clean, fold it, you're done." With a Ziggy there's no turning back, I didn't even bring an extra cup, this is it. So I tried wiping it clean with toilet paper and that was a mess. I ended up having toilet paper stuck to my fingers. ugh. It was not good. So my friend watched the door and I walked out and washed it in the sink because no one was there, and that was sort of the end of it for me. The first two days were great and after that I don't know if it was the stress of being in public, not getting it in quite right, I did have some leaks at that point, nothing major but definitely some leaks. And that night I put it in before bed, it just kept slipping down. I'd wake up in the middle of the night, I really didn't sleep well. This was not the reason but it was not helping. So I'd go to the bathroom and I could tell that instead of it being in place and diagonal it was actually down and I could feel this so I would wash my hands and I would try to push it back up and next time I'd go to the bathroom a few hours later it was down again. With a cup you know it's just sitting there and if your fit is bad it might slip down but you can push it back up. It's a lot easier to fix with a cup than with the disc. I don't know why. It just wasn't staying in place in that particular moment. There was a really high point of where I thought Ziggy might be my Goldilocks and then towards the end it was like ehhhhh but. It wasn't staying in place. For me I don't really need to change in public because I don't have a super heavy flow so the whole public changing was an anomaly. I think I could get past that changing messiness because I would be at home and in a place where I'm comfortable in the morning or at night, neither one of those things bother me to get bloody. And I do get bloody. I've never ever ever had blood on my fingers when changing my cup. I absolutely got blood on my fingers when I removed this disc and so you know I don't mind it as much these days. It doesn't bother me at all it's just being in public it is an issue and so even after all that I do want to continue trying it and I really do like it and the fact that I can have period sex with it in is a bonus. Truly truly surprised, really surprised that I liked it. I would recommend it to someone who wants to try a disc if they're up for spending $40 or for someone who already liked the disc and wished it were a reusable option. Not for someone who bleeds super heavy because again you are changing in public probably and it is sort of a mess to change. And maybe not for someone with a tilted cervix, knowing what direction, because if you can't get that fit behind the cervix and pushed to the pubic bone then it's not really gonna work for you. You need that security and that placement to be right. But if you do have a low cervix this is good for you unless it's too too low, because it doesn't matter how long it is it has that capacity regardless. And I should add that this is the best little case because since it is reusable it keeps it at a minimal size versus it (poof) blowing out. So thanks for watching and I welcome you to leave a comment or a question.
