1年前、山道を運転中に

One year ago, while driving through the mountains of Gifu,

1匹の猫が横切りました。

a scraggly cat dashed across the expressway in front of our car.

路肩に駐車し

We pulled over - which, I believe is illegal in Japan.....

確認しに行くと

and I idiotically chased the cat to the other side and picked him up where he was eating some roadkill.

大怪我をした猫が死骸を漁っていました。

He was NOT in great shape

健康とは程遠い状態でした。

We brought him home, where he pooped in one of our potted plants overnight,

保護し、連れ帰った翌日、

and we took him to the vet in the morning.

早速、観葉植物で用を足し、

He had a very broken leg, a tail that needed to be amputated,

獣医へ連れていきました。

worms,

脚は骨折しており、

and he was really underweight. :(

尾も切れかけ、

And he was smelly.

寄生虫もおり、

SO, SO SMELLY!

かなり痩せていて

You guys came through and more than covered the cost of his medical bills!

そして、体臭も非常に強かったです。

Two months later, we brought home a completely different looking cat.

治療費を寄付してくださった皆さん、本当にありがとうございました。

AND THAT'S WHERE IT BEGAN....(dun dun DUNN)

たった2ヶ月で、健康になりました。

This is Haku.

そして、これが始まりでした。

He's a Maine Coon.
