  • Hey guys!

  • Today's video is going to be about how I set up my cage.

  • Several of you have been asking for this video, so here it is.

  • The first thing that you are going to need is some materials.

  • The first item is grids.

  • I find these at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I can't find them in store.

  • So the best thing thing to do is get them online. They're around $19.

  • And please excuse the puppy, she's with me at school today.

  • School's not in session, by the way, but she's here.

  • So grids, this will get you, this will be big enough for one cage, maybe a 2x6.

  • I have about 4 of these containers cause I make so many things.

  • So grids.

  • Second item, you need your fleece.

  • I get these at Walmart.

  • They're like around $2.97 or so.

  • You'll find them near the bath or umm where else like the, pretty much where the bathroom

  • stuff is and they'll be rolled up in this little, in a big box container.

  • Very cheap, they do the job.

  • And I usually get 2 of those to cover my cage.

  • Next item is some sort of absorbent material.

  • I use u-haul padding.

  • You can get for one sheet, one blanket of u-haul padding is about $7.

  • And I'm able to get 2 for, can use this for 2 cages.

  • So that's quite a bit.

  • Or instead of using u-haul padding, you can use just a regular bath towel.

  • I also found these at Walmart.

  • They were around $2-$3.

  • And you want to make sure you get the big ones, the big bath ones, not the regular,

  • but the big ones in order for it to cover, be wide enough for the cage.

  • And the last item, which is, you don't have to, but I use potty pads.

  • These are homemade, my mom helped me make these cause she is very good at sewing.

  • And this just helps with, I don't have to clean the cage more than once a week.

  • Because my guinea pigs usually use the bathroom in their litter box.

  • But still, in their hideaways they like to pee and poop there so this just makes the

  • cage smell and stay a lot cleaner so I can change this throughout the week.

  • Anyway, now, how I set up my cage.

  • Ok guys,

  • Now, take your absorbent material

  • And lay it out.

  • I have short pieces. It didn't go all the way.

  • Then, you'll take your material, your fleece.

  • And you'll lay it out.

  • I try and make mine a little long in the front.

  • Then,

  • You take your cage.

  • Here's our guys, over here waiting.

  • Little Houdini over here keeps trying to get out so I have to block him in.

  • You'll also need, I did forget this, is you're going to need clips.

  • I always start from the back cause it's a lot easer then pulling front to back.

  • We've got two separate cages right now because of

  • Rolo having arthritis in his back

  • We just went to the vet last week

  • So he's currently separated. Eventually, I'll move him over there.

  • But I've just got a ton of stuff over there, I'll have to do it.

  • To help these guys with a little bit more room, I'll be making them

  • A second level in just a second.

  • I might even move him over a little bit so he gets more room.

Hey guys!
