I know that to have is a verb,

haveはたくさんの意味がありますからね

because it has so many different meanings,

もちろん、すごく頻繁にも使われます

and it's used so frequently.

聞いた瞬間にはどの意味で使われているのか

It's kind of difficult in the moment when you hear it

判断するのは難しいかもしれません

to work out exactly what it means,

今日は10個のフレーズ、

but I have 10 phrases,

10個の表現で

10 expressions.

慣用句的な

They're idiomatic.

少しくだけた場で聞くような表現です

They're ones that you would use in more informal situations.

ですが、イギリスではよく耳にします

You'd hear them a lot in the United Kingdom.

ほとんどのはイギリスではもちろんよく聞きますし

I think most of them would be used in the US

もちろん他の英語圏でもよく耳にしますね

and in other English-speaking countries as well.

つまり、世界中でよく使われてます

So they're pretty universal,

ものすごく役立つと思いますよ

but they're seriously, seriously useful.

二番目は、to have somebody on

I wasn't being serious.

to have somebody on

Number two, is to have somebody on.

これはhave と on はくっつきません

To have somebody on.

これは必ず離れる熟語です

So it's a separable,

この文脈だと

and this one is always separable, phrasal verb.

この文脈だと

In this context,

have と onは絶対くっつきません

in this context,

この意味だと、離れるのです

it must always be separated.

これは誰かに嘘であることを

It is a separable one for this meaning.

本当だと言って

It sort of means to persuade somebody

that something is true,

when in reality, it isn't.

So if I don't believe something

I'll give you an example of this.

used to say to me when I was a child,

and I always knew that I had done something wrong.

This is to have a bone to pick with someone.

So to have a bone to pick with someone.

My mom always used to say, Lucy,

Oh no, if she's watching now,

she'll be laughing 'cause she knows

問題がある、ということです

exactly how she says it.

when somebody has a bone to pick with someone,

it means that they have a problem or issue

So it would normally be

because I hadn't kept my bedroom tidy and organised.

It's quite a nice diplomatic way,

and suddenly my attitude changed.

I had a change of heart.

Number seven is to have a crack at something.
