Today I am in Jiaokeng, the hometown of green diamonds. 今天我來到綠鑽石的故鄉 — 礁坑

And I will introduce a very special association 今天要跟大家介紹一個很特別的協會

called Jiaokeng Community Development Association to you. 礁坑社區發展協會

Hello. Hi. 哈囉，嗨

So, I have few questions. 我有幾個問題

The first will be when was this association established 請問這個協會是何時創立的？

We established a community development association in 2007. 我們社區是在96年成立社區發展協會

It was co-founded by our current association president 當初是由我們的理事長

and the sub-district director. 跟里長共同創立

In order to revitalize the local economy, 為了振興地方經濟

the community planted Ceylon olive trees as a unique local industry. 社區以復植錫蘭橄欖為特色產業

In the summer, you can view olive flowers 夏季可以賞橄欖花

and harvest bamboo shoots. 採竹筍

In the winter, you can pick olives. 冬季採橄欖

Visitors of all ages can go into the fields 大小朋友一起下田

and enjoy the fun of picking fruit. 體驗採果樂

So what is green diamond? 什麼是綠鑽石？

And why is this the hometown of green diamond? 為什麼這裡被稱為綠鑽石的故鄉？

He came to our community and noticed olives 來到我們社區 發現錫蘭橄欖

hanging on the trees looked like green diamonds 看起來就像綠鑽石一樣掛在樹上

shining upon our community. 閃耀著社區

This is where the name “green diamond” comes from. 所以才會有綠鑽石故鄉的由來

Honnie, we have a DIY olive soap class in our community. 哈妮 我們社區有一個橄欖手工皂的DIY課程

When we take visitors on mini tours, 平常我們帶小旅遊的時候

we also bring them to experience this class. 也會帶遊客體驗

The community not only promotes local industry 社區除了推動地方產業外

but it also puts a lot of effort into promoting the community itself. 對於行銷社區也非常用心

The association planned a community tour. 規劃許多社區小旅行

The tour includes various DIY activities 旅程中安排DIY的課程

Then let's start on the 那我們現在就來做剛剛說的

handmade olive soap I talked about. 橄欖手工皂

The materials needed are 準備的材料有

a knife, 小刀

an olive soap base 橄欖皂基

and a stainless-steel cup 小鋼杯

Most importantly, 還有社區自己做的

our community-made olive extract. 橄欖萃取液

I didn't know that you can make handmade soap 我不知道製作手工香皂

from only a few ingredients. 只需要幾樣原料

That's right.!It's easy to make a soap. 沒錯，手工皂的做法很簡單

Only a few steps and you can get your own one. 只要掌握幾個要點很快就可以上手！

The first step is to cut the olive soap base 第一步 把橄欖皂基

into small pieces with the knife. 用刀子切成細小塊

Then, place them in the stainless-steel cup. 放入鋼杯

Place the stainless-steel cup on the induction stove. 接下來把鋼杯放到電磁爐上面

Double boil the soap base. 隔水加熱

Is there anything I should pay attention to? 有沒有什麼東西是我必須注意的？

Make sure not to stir it too much. 要注意不要特別的攪拌它喔

Double boil 隔水加熱

until it's completely melted. 到完全溶解

Take it out and 再取出皂基

set it aside to cool down. 放到一旁冷卻

Then, add olive extract. 接下來加入橄欖萃取液

After stirring gently 輕輕攪拌均勻後

we can start on our last step, 就可以進行最後一個步驟

which is pouring into the mold. 那就是入模

Be careful when pouring the mixture into the mold. 入模的時候要注意

Pour it in slowly from the side 從旁邊慢慢地倒入

to avoid creating air bubbles. 才能避免產生氣泡

Then the handmade soap is finished 這樣手工皂就完成囉

Ahh, okay. 喔，好的

So, if I take this home tonight, 如果我今晚把這個帶回家

can I use it straight away? 我可以馬上使用嗎？

Not yet. 還不行

After the soap is made, 手工皂完成後

remember to put it in a cool place 記得要放在陰涼處

for about two weeks 大約兩週的時間

before using it. 才可以使用

This is to harden the soap. 目的是要提高手工皂的硬度

That way it won't just melt away. 才不容易軟化掉喔

Wow,so this is the soap I made. 看,這是我做的手工皂

I can wait to try it out at home. 我等不及要帶回家試試了

Other than handmade soap, 除了手工皂

What else can Ceylon olives produced in Jiaokeng Community be used for? 礁坑社區生產的錫蘭橄欖還能做些什麼呢?

Most olives are used to make olive oil, 一般的橄欖品種多做成橄欖油

but the Ceylon olive pit is larger than other olives and has less flesh, 但錫蘭橄欖的果核比較大 果肉較少

so it is not ideal for pressing oil. 不適合榨油

The community and an university collaborated 因此社區與大學產學合作

to develop more olive products, 研發出不同的橄欖產品

including olive enzyme, olive vinegar, 橄欖酵素 橄欖醋

and even olive facial masks. 甚至是橄欖面膜

There are so many more ways to use olives. 哇 沒想到橄欖有這麼多用途

When you come to the home of green diamonds, 進到了綠鑽石故鄉

you should not leave empty-handed. 怎麼能空手而回呢

This bowl of preserved fruit looks delicious. 這一碗蜜餞看起來好美味啊

Our preserved fruit is different 和外面賣的蜜餞不一樣

because we pickle the fruits using licorice and rock sugar. 我們是用甘草跟冰糖醃製

It's green, and looks really interesting. 綠綠的看起來很特別

It tastes a little bit sour, but not too sour. 吃起來有點酸酸的 但又不會太酸

A little bit sweet, too. 也有點甜甜的

It's definitely organic, 但是絕對是有機的

because I cannot taste any 因為我吃不出來有任何的

artificial additions in it. 人工添加物

It really stimulates appetite. 真的很開胃

I think I am ready for lunch. 我準備好可以吃午餐啦
