Okay, so I've got 10 car brands in total.

今回は１０つのメーカーの名前をリストに挙げました。

Let's start with the Italian ones.

それではイタリアのブランドから始めましょう。

The first one, this one.

最初はこのロゴのメーカーです。

A lot of people call it Alfa Ro-meo,

多くの人はAlfa Ro-meoと発音します、

because it sounds like Romeo and Juliet,

なぜならロミオとジュリエットに似ているからなのですが、

but it's an Italian brand, so it should be

これはイタリアのブランドなので発音はこのようになります、

Al-fa ro-MEY-oh.

Al-fa ro-MEY-oh。

So it's not Alfa Ro-meo, it's al-fa ro-MEY-oh,

ということでAlfa Ro-meoではなく al-fa ro-MEY-ohが正解です。

or Alfa ro-Mey-oh.

もしくはAlfa ro-Mey-ohということもできます。

The next one, not such a common brand,

次はそこまで有名なメーカーではありませんが、

but I have heard it referred to as a Lan-cia,

でもLan-ciaと誰かが言っているのを聞いたことがあります、

and it should be lan-cha, lan-cha.

これは lan-chaと発音されるべきですね。

Now the next one, number three,

３つ目は

is a very expensive car brand,

とても高価な車のメーカーですね、

and we tend to pronounce it incorrectly quite frequently.

そして私たちの多くはよく間違えて発音してしまいます。

A lot of people might say lam-bor-gini, or lam-bourg-ini.

多くはlam-bor-gini もしくは lam-bourg-iniと発音します。

It should be lam-bor-ghee-nee, lam-bor-ghee-nee.

lam-bor-ghee-neeという発音にすべきですね。

So it's that bor sound.

ということでborの音になります。

I don't think we have to worry

私は巻き舌音について

too much about the rolled r's

そこまで心配する必要はないと思います、

because not everybody can do that,

なぜなら全ての人が出来るわけではないから、

but we should at least try bor, lam-bor-ghee-nee.

でも少なくともborの発音に挑戦してみる価値はあるでしょう、lam-bor-ghee-nee。

The next one, isn't maser-ah-ti, it should be

次は、maser-ah-tiではありませんよ、

mazz-uh-ra-ti.

mazz-uh-ra-tiと発音します。

I think you'll be forgiven if you say maser-ah-ti.

maser-ah-tiと言えば許してもらえると思うわ。

(laughs)

Okay, the next one, a German car name.

はい、それでは次はドイツの車のメーカーに移ります。

A lot of people might say Aw-di, but

多くの人はAw-diと言いますが、実際は

if we're going to be like the Germans,

ドイツ人のように言うなら

we need to say ow-dee, ow-dee.

ow-deeというように発音します。

The next one, another German car brand,

次もドイツのもう一つの車のメーカーですね、

this one I did mention in my brand video.

これは昔、私のブランド紹介動画でも挙げたことがあります。

In the UK, we always call this Porsche,

イギリスでは、 私たちはいつもPorscheというように呼んでいますが、

but it should have a schwa at the end,

後ろにschwa がつくべきです。

it needs to be por-shuh, por-shuh.

ということでpor-shuhとなります。

The next one, another German one.

次もドイツのメーカーです。

This one, volks-wagen?

volks-wagenと発音するのでしょうか？

In Germany, they would say follks-vah-gen.

ドイツではみな follks-vah-genと発音します。

The v makes a ff sound, and the w makes a v sound.

v は ff の音になり、wは v の音になります。

Follks-vah-gen, follks-vah-gen.

Follks-vah-genですね。

Okay, the next one is possibly the most

はい、次です、これは私が

complicated one we have on this list today.

今日リストアップしたものの中で最も複雑なものです。

It's a Swedish car brand.

スウェーデンの車のメーカーで、

I don't even know what I would call this,

これをどのように発音してよいのか見当さえつきませんが、

I would just give it a go.

それでは言ってみましょう。

Ko-enig-segg, ko-enig-segg, ko-enig-segg sounds beautiful.

Ko-enig-segg、とても美し響きですね。

It should be kuhn-nig-seg, kuhn-nig-seg.

kuhn-nig-segというように発音します。

Now the next one, we've got this one.

それでは次はこれです、

A lot of people would call it shev-ro-let.

実に多くの人がshev-ro-letというように発音しますが、

People get confused by that T on the end,

みな、最後の T に惑わされているのです。

but it's not pronounced, it is shev-ruh-ley, shev-ruh-ley.

ここでは発音しません、 shev-ruh-leyというようになります。

And the final one, and this is the one

そして最後は、これです。

I'm going to struggle with most

これは私が最も発音に苦しんだものですが、

because it's not the french uh sound.

フランス語のuhの音を伴って…

It is this one.

こうなります。

It often gets pronounced as citron or citroën,

citron やcitroënのように発音されがちですが、

but it should be pronounced see-troh-en.

本当はsee-troh-enというように発音します。

But you could just say cit-roen, see-troh-en.

でも難しいのでcit-roenやsee-troh-enと言えば問題ないでしょう。

Man, I don't know if I'll ever

まぁ、私でさえもフランスの車メーカーの名前を

be able to master the French car brands

マスターできるのがいつになるか分からないくらいですから、

but maybe I'll just buy Italian ones.

おそらくイタリアのメーカーのものを買うことになるでしょう。

That being said, I've got a Mini Cooper.
