Hello this is Athena Jezik!
We're back at
doing some more
massage work,
bodywork, whatever seems to come up today.
I've been getting a lot of really good emails
and i appreciate that and
thank you for all the comments on the site and the thumbs up because that helps
us to know if we're doing a good job.
So please continue to make comments and maybe offer suggestions or ask
questions and
see how we can accommodate that.
I've been getting some really good emails
so I thought I might
take this a little bit further and show you a few more things
that
won't probably give you much to practice with, but it will give you
some ideas of what all there is out there in the realm of body work.
Some of it is moving into more of an energetic
position which the lymphatic and the cranial sacral therapy
does work a little more energetically
but you can find that in the muscles as well.
So we're just going to start out
working
like a general massage but what I'm gonna do
right away is, there's a thing that we do in
bodywork, more advanced bodywork, involving
mapping the body
but not mapping it like the cranial mapping but
scanning the body with the hand and you can oftentimes feel where there is
disturbances in the
energetic field,
which will relate to something going on underneath the body.
I know for some of your it's gonna seem like very weird things
but until you
experience it or find it in your hands,
it's best to reserve your criticism
until you understand a little bit more
how the energy works, how the body works, and what's going on
at many other levels that were not accustomed to knowing about.
Right in this area is where I'm
finding some
stress going on. There's not a good feel to the energy field right there. It
feels a little agitated. It kind of feels like a wash machine agitator.
So I would guess that in here there's some kind of tightness and
there is.
Does this feel like tightness to you Corrina?
And you can use the
skills of
scanning the body.
You come up with a lot more
things that are connected at different areas of the body.
So I'm gonna focus there a little bit inside of
all of the regular work that I would do
in a massage session.
Please bear in mind that I do very little massage anymore.
I incorporate it in
to help muscles relax or to
move a little bit of fluid. When the fluids are moved out I will
go over it
with manual work.
But I'm gonna concentrate here
to start with.
What I'm doing is just
bringing a nice thumb iron
up through this area that was tight going crosswise
and just using the finger along there.
When you find an area that has a little bit of weakness or tension in it
you can focus in on just working that area.
There's quite a bit of tension actually right in through this entire area.
Checking both sides
to see exactly how the tension is. If it's symmetrical
then there is more of a balance than if it's
not.
Okay so I'm gonna come back up here,
back to that. Let's open up some of the muscles that are around that area
because as you are well aware
the muscles and the attachments and the way pain refers around the body
it's like
reading some kind of a map that changes all the time
because there's not any direct thing that happens.
There's tendencies that happen. There's
things that you
kinda figure but
really and truly when you're working with body work they are so many things
that can happen
to take a body out of balance that
the more intuitive that you work
and the less
step one step two step three that you work
with your thinking
process
the more effective you're going to be
in the results that you have.
It's a very good idea to have a good thorough routine to pick up these things
but when you get more advanced in the work and start to
pickup energies of the body then
that's when the work begins to change and becomes much more personalized
for each person.
So i'm doing my basic old
forever
massage routine here.
Making sure that the rest of the muscles of the body are
at least relaxing down and then I can focus a little more on the muscles that are
having a difficult time
relaxing
probably because of a
twisting
or contortion,
being overstressed, overworked,
being held into an abnormal position for a long period of time.
Different things like that can all bring
muscles into a
little more stressed situation.
Here's where it is.
And I'm just, you know,
following that.
There's really not anything that's
exact in what you do as a body worker.
You can do whatever comes to you to do because oftentimes
you'll have an intuitive sense about it
and when I talk like this, this is really much more advanced type of work.
The people that have
gone into this work for a while and
practiced and have a lot of different
bodies under their hands,
they begin to really see the body in a completely different way.
The techniques are good but
when we get too much that, you know, "to correct this we have to do this this
this and this..."
I've seen over the years
way way way too many people that aren't getting helped and they go back and
back to these different modalities and
there's very little change that happens over long periods of time.
Those are not effective therapies for whatever's going on.
They may have had some assistance and help
along the way but when the
therapy
is not giving you
a good
clear forward momentum in
it's correction then you may want to look for
something else that would better assist the body.
So i'm just doing the normal
routine
again
and being quite thorough with it
and coming into that tension. You can feel the tension. It's still there
but it's softening
quite a bit.
So because it doesn't feel like it's wanting to come out
very quickly with just the massage technique
there apparently is more going on.
So I'm going to go a little more subtly with this area and see if we can unlock some
of this going on.
It's right along the edge of the
erector spinae.
It's coming up a little bit into the trapezius, so there is some of that
involved.
I don't think the rhomboid is involved in this, which feels like it's
the trapezius and the erector spinae
primarily
that is doing the
work and getting itself a little bit out of sync.
Here I have my fingers along the edge of the muscle along where the
vertebrae is. I'm kind of pulling it aside
and i'm just gonna hold it here and there's not a lot of pressure.
It may look like there's some pressure but it's really not very forceful at
all.
What I'm gonna do from here is I'm gonna lighten it up even more. Just lighten
it
and lighten it.
Take less and less force, pulling it all the way up until
it feels like i'm just barely interfacing with
the skin.
When I get to a point where it feels like there's
no resistance
on the back or the fingers, which right now I've got it.
It's going to start to do it's unwinding.
And it's important to stay connected to it.
It's important to pay attention to what's going on.
What we're seeing here is it's turning itself into
a direction
which is probably gonna help it to
release.
This is where the body knows what to do, the consciousness of the body.
I know that's very hard for some of you out there to grasp
but it's time for us to start to think about
things in a different way than what we've been taught bacause much of what we've
been taught hasn't been
accurate.
If we were taught these sorts of techniques and different things like
this in alternative medicine,
good eating,
healing serous diseases with food,
we would have a whole different scene as far as
the medical scene.
There wouldn't be as much sickness going on.
So it's time for us
to realize that
you know, industry
in medicine is maybe
in order to make a profit.
We may want to examine what it is that brings profit and
start to look at things a little more objectively and
not so much out of fear.
lWe've lost our connection
with a lot of things. It's time to get that back.
And I know there's a lot of you out there that understand this. Now, what's happening
under here
is there's a lot more softening and it doesn't feel like there's that ridge
at all.
It's been dissolved.
That's an easy
one to fix.
Actually, I didn't fix it I just held the space for it to be
able to
work its way through.
Then of course the same thing can go on with the other side.
I'm just gonna do a little here. The cameras are set up in a way that i can't get to that
side.
So fortunately her
trauma side was on the right side that we needed.
This way you can just see it's a work with the hands and the fingers and
the connection with it all.
When you're working with energy of the body or you're even going in
more intuitively into something
the way that that's done is you have to really get out of your head to
do that. It's a different
knowing.
it's a different place of knowing.
you kind of have to split your head and
know what you're doing and kind of have an understanding in that regard but you also have to
trust
what you're getting at another level
and that's a very hard thing to come into but it does make a lot of difference.
Just yielding over to what is
out there rather than trying to figure it out.
Just a little circular stuff and then I'm gonna
give a nice vertebral
stretch going up the back.
And checking the sacrum
and occiput.
And this again comes to lightening. It's a good thing to do this because then you
have the dural tube also being able to unwind.
Particularly after there's been wound up muscles along the vertebrae.
It's been my experience with my hands to notice that this is a very good way to
just assure that the deepest core part of the body is able to find it's way to
its correction as well
as everything lays out from that spot, from that whole core.
So if that isn't in alignment nothing else will really be in alignment
and there's quite a bit of
movement from
the occiput
down to here. I can feel quite a bit of shifting.
Then going over this now it's very smooth energetically.
Okay
if you enjoyed this
piece please give it a thumbs up and
give a comment or
questions.
I know we all try to get back to that and have a little interaction with you but
we do enjoy reading it
even if we don't respond to all of your comments.
This is Athena Jezik
thank you so much for your time!
