  • Yo what's up guys, I am at Incheon Airport. This is it, my time in Korea has

  • come to an end. They're actually boarding for my flight right now for VietJet air

  • to Hanoi, Vietnam and so I'm like just making it. I'm not late or anything like

  • that but they've already started the boarding process so I should be good

  • Anyways, what a whirlwind checking in through security and all this other stuff, it was

  • pretty crazy. Anyway this is kind of like a weird like

  • bittersweet moment. Korea's been an amazing adventure, I've met

  • some wonderful people here. Glad to experience my mother's home culture and

  • home country and all this other stuff and yeah, so kind of like bittersweet that I'm

  • leaving. But this was kind of necessary and I'm excited, I'm excited to do

  • something new and different, this is completely new for me.

  • And uh, let's go to Vietnam guys.

  • It's beautiful out here right now, it's very humid but there's a nice breeze. It took

  • forever to go through the whole Immigration process because I did the "Visa on arrival"

  • But I got that squared away, changed all my money to Vietnamese Dong

  • I got a SIM card, I'm good to go, now I'm going to go find my taxi that was setup by my

  • awesome Airbnb host Harold and we're going to the Hoan Kiem area.

  • At the Airbnb, I wanted to show you guys around so let's go take a look.

  • So this is the front door you come in. Got this like nice little kitchen spot going

  • on here and to the side is the bathroom with a shower and there's a

  • cabinet with like all kinds of stuff towels and stuff. I used that towel

  • earlier dry my hands. And it also has a little bidet hose. There you go. A little

  • hose for washing the bunghole and yeah. This is simple bathroom and this is what

  • the layout looks like from a different angle, it's got a nice little kind of a

  • sofa thing ,a glass coffee table, got a fan, a little TV, definitely got AC

  • Necessary. And this is the bedroom so it's a nice queen-size bed and this also

  • has air conditioning. Can't open those windows but you can open these. You can

  • also open up those as well, so I did when I first came in here and kind of aired

  • out the place and yeah, so I got my crap right here. And it's kind of cool, there's

  • some neat like little alleyway behind here and let me open up the window and

  • kind of show you guys this view.

  • So you got the roof level of someone's house.

  • There's another house.

  • like right below is an alleyway yeah and so this is the Hoan Kiem area of Hanoi.

  • One of the first things I'm remembering from visiting here in 2015 was all the

  • motorcycles. Holy crap!

  • Okay I apologize for the noise, it's going to be very windy in here because they have all

  • these fans running, it's very humid, but I'm at this place recommended by my cab

  • driver called Pho Thin and essentially there's only one thing on the menu, it's

  • Pho Bo and you just come in, you sit down, and then they also have these like dough

  • sticks that you can get and then you'll use that to like soak up some of the

  • soup. So I'm going to go ahead and try some of it for you.

  • Alright, going for the goodness, let's try that broth, oh my god.

  • First meal in Vietnam.

  • Oh my god!

  • That soup broth is so deep.

  • It's light, it has like a nice clean light flavor but it's so deep also at the same time.

  • Great recommendation by the taxi driver.

  • Get some of that meat on there.

  • Some noodles.

  • Wow that meat has an awesome like smokiness to it.

  • Wow this is stuff like I've never tried ever in the States or Korea

  • or in Japan. Wow!

  • Let's try with the bread. It's kind of like a little donut/baguette

  • kind of a thing

  • Dip it in the soup.

  • Mmmmmm

  • That's really good!

  • I highly recommend this place.

  • You guys don't even know... I'm so stuffed I'm probably dribbling

  • like a little baby. It was nice and spicy, that was awesome! I need to learn more

  • about ingredients because there was stuff I don't know what it was. I know that

  • there was cilantro, the spicy sauce I don't know what it's made of, but it's

  • definitely hot and really tasty and yeah, like I just need to learn more about

  • this stuff, but I'm glad that this is one of the first places I ate at in Hanoi.

  • It's right here behind me, Pho Thin.

  • All right I probably just got jacked by some lady for the fruit, but probably not

  • by much, but she definitely was playing me as the tourist, which I am. I only know

  • how to say up to five in Vietnamese anything after that I get really

  • confused and so yeah I think she kind of robbed me just a little bit but I

  • definitely walked away with a ton of fruit. Got this whole stalk of bananas

  • which is really nice. So I probably paid around maybe twelve dollars for this

  • that's my rough estimate. I know that doesn't sound like a lot - this for twelve

  • dollars is insane (cheap!) but yeah I could definitely tell that she was riding me

  • for the price. Probably if I went there more frequently, she would give me more

  • local prices.

  • Alright, so while I'm cooling off, I actually wanted to eat one of these

  • bananas and they're like little mini bananas. I don't know exactly what type

  • of bananas species they are but it looks good. Let's find out. Fruit is good.

  • Mmmm, very sweet! It almost reminds me of Apple bananas in Hawaii, little baby

  • Apple bananas. That was really good, it's like, it's got girth, but um

  • Yeah this is really good holy shit. My breakfast for the next few days is set.

  • Alright, now I'm going to end the evening up here on the roof of the

  • AirBNB. I forgot to show this to you guys in the daytime I completely forgot about

  • it, but this is where the washing machine is

  • There's a bathroom up here. This is a pretty chill patio area you can see like

  • behind me is this like relief painting thing and some chairs.

  • I bought some beer, I picked up some Heineken. Heineken was 27,000 VND.

  • I picked up four cans, that's roughly seven dollars and change, so less than

  • eight dollars I think and I think for four tall boys of Heineken at that price is

  • pretty good. I was aiming for the Hanoi Bia, the local canned beer, but I was

  • walking like all over the place and I couldn't find anything, I couldn't find a

  • little mom-and-pop mini-mart. Nothing. Yeah anyways up here there's kind of

  • like a nice view of a lake and stuff like that it's really hard to see at

  • night, this camera doesn't do so well in low light but I just wanted to share this

  • with you guys. You can see someone did their laundry and it's like hanging

  • right here in the background. Anyway I'm going to go ahead and chill out up here

  • try to enjoy some breeze cool down with a Heineken and yeah. That's day one in

  • Hanoi! Thanks for watching guys, please subscribe to the channel, please leave

  • any comments and questions down below, I'll definitely answer them.

  • FeedTheCory.com is still under construction, but I will try to have that up like within a

  • week and yeah. Stay tuned for more food videos and I'll see you guys later bye!!!
