So, apparently the kids are playing a lot of pretend today. So, tell me about what's goin' on. - Um, I'm pregnant. - [Jeremy] You're pregnant? Oh my goodness! What are you having? - [Elise] A baby. - [Jeremy] Wow. - [Elise] And it's a girl. - [Jeremy] When is your baby due? - Coming? - [Jeremy] Yeah, like, when is it gonna come out? - Today! - [Jeremy] What! How exciting! - And Isaac is my husband. - [Jeremy] Oh, is he the daddy? - Mm hmm. - So, these are the names of everyone in our family. - [Jeremy] Oh, you made a list. - [Isaac] Jacob's real last name is Pylo, we just... - And that's the dog, right? - [Isaac] Yeah, we adopted him from a pet store, then Elise's name is Emily. - [Jeremy] Looks like something might be wrong with your dog. You okay doggy? Can you do some doggy tricks? Show us a doggy trick. - [Caleb] (whirring) - [Jeremy] I don't think I've ever seen a doggy do that before. - [Isaac] We have a kid named Sarah with Aurora, then imagine there are people Martavius and Calvin. - [Jeremy] Wow. - [Kendra] All right, so this morning we are taking these two kiddos in for eye exams. - I am a expert at this. - [Kendra] Are you? - And this is my first. - [Kendra] What do you think of it, Caleb? - Scared, a little. - [Kendra] Yeah? - [Elise] We told him about the drops in your eye. And we told him about the glasses, and mom told me about the contacts. - [Kendra] Yeah. Because I might need to get contacts. - What even are contacts? - [Kendra] They're little tiny things you put in your eyes that help you see better like glasses. - Glasses, but they're better? - [Kendra] No, they just go straight on your eye. - Like, a cup in your eye? - And you look the same. - Yeah. - You'd look like this. - [Kendra] That is what it would look like. - But, it would look like this when I'm looking at the glasses. - [Kendra] That's very true. Caleb, what are you gonna do if you feel nervous? - Hold somebody's hand. - [Kendra] Yeah? - Or something. - [Kendra] What happened to your face right here, dude? - I don't know. - [Kendra] Whoa, look at all this stuff. Oh, no touching Caleb. - [Caleb] What's that for? - [Kendra] Um, I honestly don't know yet, Caleb, but we can ask the doctor when they get in. - What that? So, I can see better like this. - Um, we go to a pediatric Opthamologist, which is an eye specialist. Elise got her glasses for the first time when she was four and a half. One of her eyes, Caleb don't touch that. - [Caleb] Why? - Because it doesn't belong to you, come back over here. Sorry. One of her eyes wandered, it kind of looked like it was cross eyed and she had double vision. So, we obviously took her to the eye doctor and she's had several different prescriptions just as her vision has changed during that time. But, she has something called accommodative esotropia. - If I get scared, you guys can hold my hand. - [Kendra] Yeah, we will. All right buddy, now they're gonna do the drops, okay? - Okay. - [Opthamologist] Oh, look how brave you are. All those happy thoughts. - Caleb, you are doin awesome. - [Kendra] Good work, Caleb. - [Opthamologist] You're halfway done! - [Kendra] Caleb, I'm so proud of you. - [Opthamologist] Can we do this eye? We'll be all done. - Look at that! - You are so brave. - [Opthamologist] Can you lift your chin a little bit further? You are so good at this, good job. - [Kendra] Good work, big guy. - [Opthamologist] Oh, we'll have to get you some stickers when we're all through, you did so well. - Can I show you something? - [Kendra] Sure. - (purrs) I can make that sound when a cat purrs. - [Kendra] Oh, can you do a cat purr too? - (blows raspberry) - [Elise] (purrs) - [Kendra] These two are making up a dance for us. (classical music) How Caleb passes time in the waiting room. - [Elise] (laughs) - [Kendra] You alright, dude? - Yeah. - [Opthamologist] Can you see me? - Yeah. - Yeah? - Very well. - [Opthamologist] I can see you too. What about way up here? Can you see how many fingers are up? - Five. - [Kendra] All right Caleb, how was the eye doctor. - Good. - [Kendra] You don't look very happy, what's the matter. Were you bummed? Why were you bummed? - Because we did not get, because we did not get any glasses. - [Kendra] Did you want glasses? Yeah, I'm glad that your vision was good, buddy. Sometimes it's sad when you want glasses, huh? - (Grumbles) - [Kendra] Yeah? Did you get sunglasses? - Sunglasses are boring. - Elise does get a new glasses prescription so we're gonna be ordering some new glasses online, I think, today. And, Caleb is really bummed. I remember, growing up, my sister had glasses and I didn't and I remember desperately wanting glasses. I'm excited to get online and look for Elise's new glasses with her. I think she's gonna really enjoy that. But, I was thinking as I was driving home, but I would love to ask you guys, do you guys wear glasses, do you not wear glasses, do you wear contacts? Let us know in the poll up above. - So, Isaac just came to show me something he learned today. - The only thing that makes you frustrated is you. - [Jeremy] So, what if I do something, like, tell you have to go to bed? Can I be the one frustrating you? - No. - [Jeremy] Why not? - I would, I can choose if I wanted to become frustrated or not. - [Jeremy] That might be one of the most important lessons you've learned, I'm so proud of you. How did you learn that? - Um, from my Temper Flares book. - So, like all families, we sometimes have anger, negativity, or tempers flare in our family. And, Kendra got these really cool workbooks, I thought this was a proactive approach. It's for kids, and it goes though and it gives them activities, things they can do to deal with these issues and talk about it and that's how Isaac came up with thing. And, he often comes out to us and he's like, "Dad, I just learned something so cool." What have you thought of the workbook? - I really like it. - [Jeremy] What do you like about it? - It has activities, and it make you happier. - After our lesson on overreacting, Kendra asked Isaac to go thought the workbook and to prepare a lesson for our family. - This is not sponsored, I was just excited to find a tool that's helping our family. And, I feel like it's so much more affective than just me lecturing at my kids like, "You're in charge of your own anger, "you don't have to be so negative." Like, it's just a way for us to be on neutral ground and to be learning as a family and working to overcome that. - Seat belts are buckled! Ready for blast off in three, two, one. Blast off! (upbeat music) - [Jeremy] Woo! - (laughs) - As best as I can! - [Jeremy] Did you fall on your hand? - Yeah. - [Jeremy] Does it hurt? - Yes. - [Jeremy] That's part of learning how to ride, huh? - Yes, it is. My turn to try. - [Jeremy] Keep trying. - (Cries) - Say bye - I'm sorry, sweetheart. - Bye! (cries) - I love you, aw. - I want to come play with you. - You want to come play with me? - Uh huh. - Well, I love playing with you. Let's play tomorrow, okay? - [Jeremy] Do you want to come with us to Red Robin tonight? And go to Allie's party? - Do you want to go say "Happy Birthday" to Allie? - [Jeremy] Can we go give this to Allie? - Should we go give her her present? - Mm hmm. - Okay. (gleeful music) - [Jeremy] Who's that present for, buddy? - Allie. - Yup. (gleeful music) - [Caleb] Here Allie! - Bunches of money! - [Caleb] And gum! (gleeful music) - [Jeremy] Your balloon, bud. - [Caleb] Yay! - [Laura] Yay! - [All] Yay! - [Jeremy] Happy Birthday! - Thank you. - Can I have a hug? - My balloon popped first thing. - [Jeremy] I'm so sorry, buddy. - [Laura] I'm so sorry. - [Jeremy] Huh, what? Are you sharing with him? That's so nice, what do you say to your sister? - Thank you. (laughs) - [Jeremy] Elise, why did you share with him? - Because he didn't have any. - That's for making good choices. - Your mustache tickles. - (laughs) Thanks for watching you guys, J House out. - J House out. - J House out. - J House out. (tranquil music)
