out of the corner of my eye, I notice my friend shiver.

I didn't think much of it, but then when I finished peeing,

I shivered too.

What was going on?

Was this normal?

I decided to get to the bottom of this and figure out

what are the pee shivers.

When I got home, I hopped on my computer

to do some research.

There was a lot of different theories online,

but I couldn't fine a clear explanation.

What I did find is the pee shivers seemed only effect guys.

So I surveyed the office to see what I could learn.

Hey Quinta, can I ask you a question?

- Um hm.

- Do you ever get a weird shiver after you pee?

- No.

- No.

- Not even like a little bit?

- No.

- I get shivers all the time, so it's hard to tell

if it's just from peeing or just from being alive.

- Yeah, like when you release.

- Yeah.

- They're like orgasmic.

- I know, isn't it great? - They're the best.

- No.

- No.

- Who gets that? People get that?

- You're talking about it's like the end of peeing

and you just have that involuntary shake?

- [Host] Yeah.

- Totally a thing.

- The likelihood that I pee shiver

is how much I have to pee before I pee.

- I feel like I pee shiver 100% in the morning.

I always pee shiver right after I wake up.

- Can I ask you a really quick question?

- Yeah, I do get the pee shivers.

- You do get the pee shivers?

- I do. Right in the middle.

Usually at the beginning it's like almost every time.

- Really?

- It's a real thing.

- Yeah, right?

- It's must be a genetic, maybe I'm an X-woman.

- So aside from Ashley, none of the girls had even heard

of the pee shivers.

While every guy said they had.

It definitely seemed to be a guy thing.

- Yeah, duh.

Who doesn't?

- Sarah had a theory that seemed to make sense.

- Maybe it's something to do with the fact that like

the pee goes through your penis,

but like a woman, it's separate? Do you know what I mean?

- [Host] Yeah.

- 'Cause like It's a separate thing. So, I don't know.

Does that make sense, kinda?

- [Host] It does, but I'm not a professional.

So I went to a professional to see if he knows why

girls don't get the shivers.

- That's a great question. I'm not really sure why.

I do know that

it's a little bit easier for men to have an orgasm

than for a woman, so the reason why I think it might

be related to a orgasm is because you're still sending off

those same nerves in terms of having an orgasm

and getting an erection, and in fact, some patients

quite a few of my patients actually use the word,

ejaculation or orgasm when they're describing a pee shiver

and so they're using those exact same words

for a different condition, which leads me to think

that it has something to do the nervous system.

In regards to pee shivers,

everything we've talked about today is really been based on

what I feel is the ideology or

the cause of having pee shivers 'cause there really is

no significant data research out there.

- [Host] So what are the pee shivers?

Well, no one really knows.

It's an unexplained phenomenon that proves

our bodies are still quite the mystery.

Or, like Ashley suggested.

- Maybe I'm an X-woman.

- Maybe we're all just X-men.

- That's how you find out that you're a mutant

is you shiver while you pee.

- I don't think so, it sounds perfectly pleasant though.

- It's pretty nice.
