They call it the horse ride of the sea!
The Jetovator is a new invention that's just hit NZ shores
for the first time.
We sent our reporter Pere Wihongi
out in to the waters of the Waitemata for a test drive.
Like riding a horse in the sea.
It's famous world-wide,
but even though its creator is from NZ,
this is the first time it's reached the shores of the country.
Luckily we were some of the few to test drive it first.
I've seen videos on Facebook with people bigger than me
riding this contraption, so I should be fine.
There were definitely lows, but in the end,
things got better.
It's difficult, but after 10 minutes, you get used to it.
The strategy is to lean forward.
And the opportunity was not going to pass me.
I just had to test it out.
But you'll need to dig deep
as it'll set you back around $8000-9000.
Nah.
If I had the money I'd buy one for the family,
but not at the moment.
The market is aimed at tourism businesses,
but soon enough, it should be accessible around the nation.
