Hi everyone, today's tutorial is on this half up and half down curly hairdo that we created
using hair extensions.
So we always start every hairstyle by first blow drying the hair to make it frizz free.
And everything we do to our real hair, we do to extensions too.
We are sectioning off the crown area, because this is the last area that we are going to
curl. We start by curling the sides using hair straighteners, and here you can see how
we do that. We then clip these to the scalp using aligator clips so that the curl lasts
longer, and doesn't drop down.
You may need to use a glove, as the straighteners get really hot and difficult to touch.
We use the same method to curl all the hair like this working in small sections, and curl
the crown section last.
You should end up with something that looks like this
Now it's time to curl the hair extensions, these are human hair extensions and I'll leave
all the details in the description tab below.
We are opening the lowest line of the curls to put the hair extensions in.
And then we split the hair that we just opened into half, so that we can clip in the hair
extensions and blend them into my real hair.
We are going to clip the extensions in but first we need to back comb the roots of the
hair, to create a better grip
It's just the roots that need the back combing as you see here
After you have clipped the extensions right near the scalp you can bring down the hair
that was clipped up before and split it into half again, and do the same thing as before,
back comb and then apply another piece of hair extensions
Doing this really helps to blend all the hair together nicely
Ok now bringing back the last portion of that hair we are doing the same thing and applying
another piece of extension.
So in total 3 lines of extensions were applied, to the bottom row of curls!
Now we are done with the extensions, and we are opening up all the curls
When it comes to the crown, you may want to back comb each curl to create some height
And use hairspray to keep it in place
Now you need to decide wether to have a middle parting, or a side parting. You could even
put a tikka if you wanted
You could have it all pushed back too, or having it coming to the front like this
But today we are going to do a half and half down like this
We're starting by sectioning off the front section from ear to ear
And then taking strands from the side and twisting them and pinning them up
and doing the same thing on the other side, twist and pin up but making sure you have a smooth finish
At this point you can make any height adjustments that you need
We are just taking one last strand and pinning it in such a way as to hide all the pins that
were used, in any good hairstyle you shouldn't be able to see the pins that have been used!
So find a creative way if hiding them
We're going for a side parting and back combing it all in place as you see here
Just finishing it off with some hairspray and one last curl falling on the face
And here's the final look, tell me what you guys think
See what I mean about hiding the pins, we created little swirls to do that.
And the hair extensions added all that length and made my hair look super long!
