Don't you just love flying
The most amazing experience
Who would have thought, that it would even be possible!
Such a wonderful experience.. how could it possibly go wrong?
*screaming*
Ohhhhh
We've just recovered...
..from the Pepsi memes
Now, for you guys who don't know, I'm sure a lot of you know already
There's been this video of a man..
being dragged off the aeroplane
Let's.. Let's have a little watch
In case, you haven't seen it
I love this guy, by the way, he's so fucking happy
that he got to keep his seat *laughs* he's like 'yeah I got to keep my seat motherfucker..'
'I don't give a shit'
aww men, yes! Look how happy he is! What the fuck!
In video: *man screaming as pulled from chair*
Literally, dragging him outta his seat
And I know what you're thinking..
'What did he do? Did he offend the crew? Maybe the passengers?'
Maybe he said something really mean? What's happening here is absolutely horrible.
I can't believe it's happening. This is so bizarre! Okay, let me give a bit of better context here.
So, basically, what happens in a lot of airlines - in America especially- as I understand..
Is that they overbook the flights because a tonne of people that book the flights.. don't actually show up
So, a way for company's airlines to make even more money on seats for people who don't show up
Is to sell more tickets, than it exists on the airplane
Everyone, shows up for the fight (it does happen)
And that way, clearly, they can't fly the plane. You know, with people sitting on the floor
So, they have to accommodate these passengers *laughs*
By dragging them the fuck out of the airplane *laughs*
I'm not laughing at him
I'm laughing at how bizarre the situatuion is
Don't get me wrong, what's happening here is horrible
But that wasn't what happened, the reason why they dragged this guy off the plane was because..
United wanted to move some of their crew, some of their employees to another city
so, they didn't overbook it, they just wanted to move their people
*laughs*
so they're like we're going to throw away people that paid for their ticket
You're out
So, what happened was they said, does anyone want to make uhh $400
well, uhh, we'll fly you in tomorrow at 2pm
No one. Absolutely no one takes that offer because who the fuck wants to stay a night in another city
until 2PM
So, then they said they'll select some people at random
And they don't select the first class, by the way, they select whoever paid the lowest first
Four people were selected, and this man did refuse to leave his spot for the United Crew members
And this is what happened
In video:*screams as he is being forcefully removed*
I was so confused about it at first
I was like, how can you throw away someone on the plane if he's already entered
Like, why was he allowed to enter if he's not allowed to enter?
I'm so confused *laughs*
Apparently, they fucking let him back in again. Drag him out.. and he comes running back!
Where did all that blood come from?
That wasn't there before.. What did they do to him?
First of all, flight was from Chicago to Louisville
I looked that up on Google Maps,
It's a short flight, it's like an hour long
It cost £174
But they offered £400 for people to exit?
Why didn't they just book them on a flight, if you need people to go so badly?
It'll be cheaper!
This whole thing could have been avoided!!
As horrible as this event is..
The memes, as always, are delicious
*laughs*
You know, we were blessed with Pepsi
but United..
Thank you!
In video: *audio that I cannot be bothered to type out*
In video: United Nations.. Fuck you!
*laughs*
I love it so much
It's always great, just paying for expensive plane tickets to then getting dragged the fuck out of it
I guess, I guess, they got their employee training video from The Dark Knight
The thing that bothers me the most about this situation is..
it's something I'm thinking constantly about, is if only. IF ONLY
That man.. had a pepsi
This whole thing, could have been resolved instantly.
There would not have been a problem, if he just said-
-Excuse me Sir, I would just like to keep my seat, they say no, he's like..
-well, can I interest you in this pepsi
* laughs*
Ohh my god
So, the memes on Twitter are absolutely amazing
Here we see the exchange that went down with Kylie Jenner
Amazing
United, "If we cannot beat our competitors, we beat our customers"
*laughs*
Board as a doctor, leave as a patient.
We'll seat you. Then we'll beat you.
This is some great PR. This is some excellent PR
I do have a feeling that uhh United is not gonna face this problem any longer
You know? I have a feeling there's not gonna be too many overbookings any longer
Luckily
Oh I love this one
*laughs*
*reads screen*
Now, the thing is the CEO of United made a statement
It reads like this
*reads screen again*
No, no
Oh sorry, that wasn't it.
He made a completely different statement, basically the equivalent of a Youtuber apology
*laughs*
Trust me, I know
Basically saying, well I'm sorry it's your fault
The CEO of United, god bless you!
Amazing
He basically -- I'm quoting directly-- I apologise for having to re-accommodate these customers
There was also a leaked email coming from the CEO of United
Basically, uhh, showing no sign of remorse or empathy
For the situation
*reads screen*
That we studied from the Dark Knight
From the Dark Knight movie
*reads*
He came from Pepsi
Our lord and saviour
Why don't you ask this guy.. and what he thinks about this statement
Airlines are all fucked
Okay?
Some of them, are just more fucked than others
Clearly, United is now apart of that list
I think everyone who has flown somewhat frequently has had a bad experience
I've had a similar experience like this - I didn't get beaten
Okay
I had a connecting flight once
The flight was delayed but I made it to the terminal in time
Before they even started boarding the plane
But they refused to let me on the flight because they thought that since the plane was delayed-
-that I wouldn't make it
So they had, without telling me, or without doing anything, they just booked me on another flight
And so, seeing everyone just getting on the plane
When I'm just like, why aren't you letting me on the plane?
It's one of the most frustrating things I ever had to deal with
When I was gonna visit Marzia
The first time we dated
And I was just so annoyed that I wouldn't make it to her in time
I understand this guy refusing to leave
He paid for the ticket, he bought the ticket
You can't sell someone something that you don't have
That's fraud
If you ask me what United did, is fraud!
I hope this guy gets reimbursed for what happened
and no, I'm not talking 400$
in money, that most likely you have to spend at the airport
or in new plane tickets
Alright, that was this video
Let me know if you enjoyed! Leave a like if you did!
I'll see you tomorrow with another one
Stay awesome bros
