Pack and Plays come in handy when you just want a safe place to put baby in to either
play or nap when you go and do the dishes, take a phone call, something like that. I'm
Joie with Baby Earth. We're going to talk about buying a pack and play. Now one of the
biggest things with pack and plays is to make sure that they are safe and baby cannot crawl
out of it on their own. So you want to make sure that the sides are high enough that baby
can't figure out how to get out. Another thing you want is to make sure it's sturdy and safe,
that baby can't stand on one side and knock it over. Another important thing is the mesh
siding. You want to make sure that a lot of air gets through to baby, lots of circulation,
they don't feel trapped. And the mesh is great because no matter what, you can see into the
pack and play at all times and know exactly what baby's doing just by glancing over. Now
a couple of pack and plays come with some really cool accessories. One that I really
like is a changing table. So this is a changing table that's on this one, and this is nice
because if you take the pack and play over to grandma and grandpa's, or maybe you have
a day out in the park, you have a clean, safe place to change your baby that you're familiar
with and you know where everything is. So that's a great accessory. Another thing to
keep in mind is where are you taking the pack and play? Are you going to be wheeling it
in and out of your house? If so, make sure that it fits through your door frames. Or
if it collapses and folds up, it's something that you can carry easily. And of course when
you re-open it, you want to make sure that the locks are secure on the wheels and on,
anyplace where it collapses. So definitely keep safety in mind. Stop using your pack
and play once your kid can climb out of it on their own. Well, I hope you learned a little
bit about pack and plays. I'm Joie with Baby Earth.
