- I have your gadgets, deals, drones,
virtual reality and inside exclusive sneak peak
at all the robots and what you can expect
for the Consumer Electronics Show 2017.
(upbeat lively music)
Hi, I'm the Youtube Deal Guy, Matt Granite
and I know it's weird here in my hotel room,
but don't worry.
We're gonna go inside Consumer Electronics Show momentarily.
I just wanted to begin before I show you
the tour of all of the items and all of the crazy gadgets
I am going to score you on sale,
and many of you are also gonna lock in freebies.
If you've never seen me before,
I'm here for you everyday to hunt down huge deals.
I also give away every single thing I test for free,
and this Consumer Electronics Show 2017
is gonna be very different.
I wanna quickly show you all the highlights of CES
leasing up to to day 'cause I think it will help
you understand the direction this year's show is going in,
but I also wanna mention that if you are subscribed
to this channel or if you subscribe today,
I'm gonna have one major CES giveaway,
not only for the next week, but for the upcoming months.
It's gonna be amazing, but first,
(upbeat lively music)
let's go back to the beginning.
The year 1967, even Panasonic and brands like Imperial
making their way around as the TV and the radio
became the celebrations of the everyday consumer
in the early 70s as well as we move forward
to the record player.
It makes its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in 1979,
the big deal on the turntable front.
But the computer, 1981 and 1986, two of the biggest years
as well as the cellular telephone,
debut 1987 followed by HDTVs,
and then the personalized wearable,
which is still a big thing at CES today,
from the Handycam to the Motorola flip phone in 1996.
Then a focus on cars and living rooms
and many of the tech trends we still see in action today.
1999 with virtual reality is not that different from 2017.
But before we get there as the convention
continued to go through 2006, many of the brands then
are the major brands you still see here today right now,
from Apple to self-driving cars in 2008.
All of those tech trends are just being fine-tuned.
The drone in 2011 not looking a whole lot different
than what we see in 2014.
The robots in 2016 still a major phenomenon.
But this year, I proudly serve as your eyes and ears
and one of the first reporters in the world
with access to the Consumer Electronics Show 72 hours early,
things are different.
Welcome to CES 2017 and this year,
unlike all of the years that I've been covering CES
or even speaking there at CES 2016,
this year is completely different
and I'm pretty fired up.
Yeah, whoo!
CES yeah, whoo!
Yeah!
So why am I so excited?
This year, CES has evolved from the smart dryer
and the smart lock and all these robots
and smart fridges and items that most people
can never afford.
There is a significant shift this year
toward the everyday average consumer,
and this year, I am so honored to be your guide.
In the next few days, I'm gonna focus on
some of the world's smallest action cams
at some of the world's smallest prices,
items I've been testing that redefine a home audio.
Take everything you've always known
about that perfect soundbar or that
perfect Bluetooth speaker.
Change the size, the limitations, and the price.
From the big focus on 8K TVs once again this year,
putting 4K TVs to shame and some practical items
for your vehicle that you may have never thought
you would need to waste integrate smart systems
right into your dashboard for under 50 bucks.
This is the year of the consumer.
Oh, and here's the best part.
I'm gonna be giving out one free gadget from CES
to a subscriber every single day this week
and all of my huge deals return tomorrow.
So if you're not subscribed, definitely subscribe
because that way you can not only follow me
through CES, but win an item.
And if you need a little help,
