Ro: Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy Nummies!
Ro: Today I have a special guest, this is my Dad!
Dad: Hi guys, great being here. Ro: Papa Pizza, right here!
Ro: Today I invited him on because he was visiting and I got so many requests
Ro: to do something Disney related, for Frozen. Dad: Mmmhmmm, mmmhmmm.
Ro: Biggest Disney Fan… Dad: I am. Ro: Ever, has every movie. Dad: I am.
Ro: What’s your favorite?
Dad: Well right now it’s Frozen, it’s kind of a real tear jerker.
Ro: Dawwwww. Dad: It’s a favorite.
Ro: So today, we are gonna be making Olaf Frozen Treats, so what you do is take
Ro: your finger, spin it in a circle and we’re gonna say let’s get started.
Dad: I’m ready.
Ro: OK.
Both: Let’s get started!
Ro: The things you will need, will be: Flour, vanilla ice cream, sugar cookie mix, or
Ro: you can use your favorite sugar cookie recipe, this calls for 1/3 cup of
Ro: butter and 1 egg, hot fudge, chocolate melts, I’m using dark chocolate melts,
Ro: 2 cookie cutters, this is a tear shaped cookie cutter, and this 1’s a little heart
Ro: cookie cutter. You’ll also need…
Dad: Well we need 6, uh, dessert glasses, or shot glasses.
Ro: They do look like shot glasses for whiskey whiskers over here. Check out my Dad’s
Ro: ‘stache, best ‘stache ever. You should give this video a like if you like
Ro: my Dad’s ‘stache!
Dad: We also need a ice cream scoop. Ro: Mmmhmm. Dad: Pair of scissors. Ro: Yep.
Dad: Rolling pin, wax paper, and a cookie baking sheet.
Ro: Yep, that’s it, now let’s put it all together!
Dad: Let’s get to baking. Ro: Yeah, let’s get to baking. OK, I’ll let you pour that
Ro: in the bowl. Dad: OK. Ro: And, I’ll lift this up, OK pour that in there.
Dad: This is sugar cookie mix, this is really good. Ro: Yeah, sugar cookie mix.
Ro: Oh gosh, oh gosh, supposed to be room temperature, really, really soft.
Ro: I put it in the microwave for a little bit too long.
Ro: OK, then I’m gonna let you crack the egg. Dad: Sure. Ro: And then you can put the...
Ro: Whoa, 1 handed egg crack! Boom! That’s where I get it!
Ro: Now you’re just gonna mix this up for about 2 minutes until everything’s
Ro: really combined.
Dad: Sounds like my old car.
Ro: Now we’re gonna roll out our cookies and cut our shapes, we’re gonna make
Ro: Olaf’s little face. Dad: Mmmhmm. Ro: To stick on top of our ice cream.
Dad: Excellent.
Ro: So, take a little bit of flour and put it on the surface, go like this.
Ro: Now I’m gonna need you to knead the dough. Dad: Hoh-oh yeah.
Ro: Ah-her-her-her-her!
Dad: Where’d you learn all this anyway? Ro: I don’t know…
Ro: Nana, she’s always baking. Dad: Nana, that’s right!
Ro: Just keep adding flour to your dough so that it’s not sticky anymore.
Ro: ‘Cuz when you cut shapes out you just want your dough to not stick to your hands.
Dad: How many cookies are we gonna make today?
Ro: A million-bajillion! Dad: Oh I love cookies! Ro: A-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Ro: Now take your rolling pin, bew-bew-bew! And roll out your cookie dough.
Dad: I remember you used to eat cookie dough. Ro: Yeah! I still do!
Dad: Yeah, that’s pretty good stuff!
Ro: Papa Pizza what are you doing over here? Dad: Oh yeah, thats…
Ro: Oh you’re saving that? Dad: I’m saving this.
Dad: That is so good! Ro: Hey gimme some of dat!
Ro: OK, now you’re gonna take your tear shape, and you’re just gonna cut out a bunch of
Ro: tear shapes. Now that you’ve got your tear shape cookies all cut out what we’re
Ro: gonna do is define Olaf’s head, so this pointy end right here Dad, do you see that?
Dad: Mmmhmm, mmmhmm. Ro: That is gonna go into our ice cream. Dad: Mmmhmmm.
Ro: And so on this top end, the rounded part, we’re just gonna on each side,
Ro: use the side of your heart, to make 2 little cuts like this, bewp, dewp!
Ro: And then you’re gonna round it. Because when he smiling, that’s what Olaf’s
Ro: head kind of looks like.
Dad: OK, once you have your cookies ready, heat your oven to 350.
Ro: And bake for 6 minutes, and while these are baking, we’re gonna be making some
Ro: chocolate decorations. Dad: Mmmm, chocolate! Ro: Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom!
Ro: If I had a mustache, I’d be doing this right now, like that.
Dad: I bet you wish you had one. Ro: Om-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum! I do….
Ro: While your cookies are baking in the oven, we’re gonna make chocolate
Ro: decorations, for Olaf’s arms… And his little hairs.
Ro: Did he give me? He always gives bunny ears! In every family photo,
Ro: he will get you, watch out, he’s a sneaky one Papa Pizza.
Ro: Alright, so what I did is I printed off little images of his hands, right here.
Ro: And I’ll put a link down below so if you’d like to use the 1 I used.
Ro: It was really easy, just in photoshop. And then I printed off a lot of pictures
Ro: of his hair.
Dad: Tape these down? Ro: Yeah, you’re gonna tape these down, I’m just taping them
Ro: on a piece of cardboard, just any flat surface will do, so they won’t move.
Ro: And then you’re gonna take a piece of wax paper, mewr!
Ro: And you’re gonna just put it on the top and tape it down.
Ro: Then what we did is we just took a bunch of those chocolate melts, and we put it in a
Ro: plastic bag with a number 2 tip at the end, just so we’d have a little bit more
Ro: control of our design. And I’ll show you how to do this, how to decorate chocolate.
Ro: So we’re just gonna trace the image of his little hand, it does not have to
Ro: be perfect, because they’re twigs. So if it looks a little
Ro: messy that’s probably perfect!
Ro: Then you’re just gonna trace every little design.
Ro: Once you’ve got all of your little arms and hair pieces done, you’re gonna pop
Ro: these into the freezer for 10 minutes, and you’re gonna take your melted chocolate
Ro: and our little dessert glasses, and you’re gonna make 2 dots on the side of the
Ro: cup… To look like his little “buddens.”
Dad: You know, we just took these out of the oven, what do we do next?
Ro: Now, we are going to decorate them with a little bit of cookie icing.
Ro: I’ve got white cookie icing and black cookie icing, and I’ll show you what to do.
Ro: So 1st we’re just gonna do an outline, and you don’t need to do the bottom of the
Ro: cookie, because that’s gonna be sticking into the ice cream.
Ro: And then, we’re gonna make a smile because those are his cheeks. Boom!
Ro: And you’re just gonna do this to all of your cookies, and then, in 10 minutes
Ro: you’re just gonna fill it in with the white. Then you’re gonna take your black,
Ro: and you’re gonna fill in the smile.
Ro: Once you’ve got your cookies all frosted, like we’ve done, you are gonna get these
Ro: orange slices, these little candy gummy orange slices, and you’re gonna cut off
Ro: the corners with your baking scissors, and you’re gonna stick them right into
Ro: the middle, awww, to be little Olaf’s nose! Check that out!
Ro: Now we are gonna assemble all of our frozen treats, and we’re gonna show you
Ro: how to do 1 first.
Ro: So what you’re gonna do, I took some hot fudge, I put ‘em in a plastic bag, just
Ro: so I could control it a little bit better. You can also use a squeezy bottle.
Ro: I’m just gonna snip the tip, and I’m just gonna put a little bit of hot
Ro: fudge at the bottom of our cups.
Ro: Now Dad’s gonna do 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, get it in there!
Ro: And, you’re gonna take a little head, stick him right in the middle.
Ro: Oh he’s so cute!
Ro: And then, you’re gonna stick in the 2 chocolate arms and attach his hair with
Ro: a little bit of frosting on the back.
Ro: Ta-da!
Ro: Here are our Frozen Olaf Treats, they’re so cute and so yummy.
Ro: I hope you guys like ‘em, thanks for suggesting them. And thanks Dad
Ro: for helping me out.
