Company Culture is the shared values and practices of the company's employees. It is the personality of a company. It defines the environment in which employees work. Company culture includes a variety of elements, the first-- work environment, I guess that is the first one we could think about. And the rest five elements include company mission, value, ethics, expectations, and goals. Here we take Nestle as an example. Nestle is the example of an organization with a clear company culture. We are able to find everything about it’s company culture from it’s website. Such as , the mission: food food, good life. The goal: to be a leading nutrition, health and wellness company. Besides, it’s easy to have a general understanding of it’s history. To know what achievements it has reached during the 150 years. Such as more than 2000 brands worldwide, or around 335,000 employees. The next part, why is it important. Three angles are provides for us to analyze it. First,employees. Employees are more likely to enjoy their time and behave better when they fit in with the company culture. Second,employers. Employers can improve productivity and employee retention through a strong office culture. And the last one, companies themselves. Companies with an adaptive culture that is aligned to their business goals routinely outperform their competitors. And ,as a graduate who is seeking for a job. Interview is essential. While the company culture is an inevitable part of the interview. So here are five tips to help job-hunters learn bout a company’s culture. Check out the company website. In particular, look at the company’s “About Us” page. This will often have a description of the company’s mission and values. Do some research. Beyond looking at the company website, you can also check out a number of online resources that provide details on company culture. Ask around. If you know someone who works for a company you’re interested in, ask to set up an informational interview where you can learn more about the company. Ask the right interview questions. The employer will likely ask you questions to assess whether you’d fit into the company culture. However, you can ask questions too. Simply asking, “How would you describe your company’s culture?” is a straightforward way to learn about the work environment. You might also ask about particular elements of the company that are important to you, such as the amount of independent work vs. teamwork, or the day-to-day schedule of an employee. The last is, to shadow someone. If you are offered the job, and are still unsure of the company’s culture, ask if you can shadow someone in the department for a day, or a few hours. This will be a useful way to see the office dynamics in play, and to ask any remaining questions. In the end,I’ve got three questions for you. If you are going to participate in a interview, and you meet these questions, think seriously about what you are going to answer them. Then you can transition to sharing some key professional skills that would help you to add value if you were hired for your target job. Ultimately, you will want to share several other strengths before the interview is over. However, be careful not to overwhelm the interviewer with too much information.
