If you don't speak Chinese,

it basically means boiled stick sandwich.

You're supposed to eat this dunked into hot soy milk,

which is what I did when I was growing up,

but we don't have time for that.

We have to eat every sandwich in the world.

We're east of Los Angeles right now in Alhambra

at Banh Mi My-Tho,

and we're about to eat a banh mi,

which is a sandwich from Vietnam.

This actually tastes like a lot of American sandwiches,

like a breakfast sandwich that you would get,

except it's got fresh tomato,

and Americans don't like fresh tomatoes

on their breakfast sandwich.

I don't know why.

We're at Olson's Scandanavian Delicatessen

where I'm about to eat the skagen sandwich,

which the owner described to me as

the lobster roll of Sweden.

Brioche roll, shrimp salad, dill.

Mmmm, it's delicious.

It's cold, it's creamy, it's very dill filled,

and there's fish roe on top,

so it sort of pops in your mouth,

which is unexpected.
