Many of you have asked how we met.

So we made this special episode to reveal the mystery.

Here's the story

We met online

So I saw her profile pictures

And she's pretty cute, so I sent her a message

And one of her pictures was actually taken in the Alps in Switzerland

And I just happened to have a job interview in Switzerland

So I mentioned to her, figuring that might be a good ice-breaker

And my first impression of him was ok

I thought he looked a little serious and emo

I was thinking he was one of those boring Asian types

Boy, was I wrong

That coupled with the fact he was having a job interview in Switzerland

I didn't want to do long-distance, so we lost touch

Fast forward a year and half later

Out of the blue I just decided to send a message to wish her Happy New Year

And this time, he has changed his profile picture

to him looking very tan

and wearing a tight triathlon suit

This was not the boring Asian who I remember

I had also just done a half-marathon myself

so i figure we would have a lot to talk about

so i messaged him back

So we exchanged phone numbers

and I called her but she didn't pick up the call

I was too nervous. I wanted to hear his voice, in case it was creepy

Good that I didn't use my funny voice

Oh Gosh. That wouldn't have worked

No? Why not?You love me long time.

Actually, I used my sexy voice.

How're you doing, baby?

That probably wouldn't have worked either

So, for those of you who do online dating

if they don't pick up leave a message

because they probably just want to hear your voice

so I finally called him back

and I was still very nervous to talk to him

so I actually pretended that he was my lab co-worker

who was also Chinese and had a very similar accent

Well, apparently we not only look the same, but we also sound the same

Well it really helped me be less nervous, so

So during our conversation, he mentioned that he is Canadian

And I remark that his accent actually sounds Chinese-Canadian

And he quickly replied that actually he's never lived in Canada

That's about right, eh?

I am not sure where I heard that Canadian accent

So moving forward the next step was skyping

We set a time and I dressed up for her

I had a shirt, a tie and a sweater

but sitting in my underwear

Really?

Yeah, of course! Just like now

Where are you pants?!

Who needs pants for Youtube?

Well, the video chat was a real game changer for me

because pictures and phone can mean so much

but I got to see his mannerism. He looked really cute

And by that point, I was really excited to meet him in person

So we set the date but I had my own agenda

I wanted to make it more interesting. So actually I decided to visit her a week earlier

And I was not so happy about the plan

I had a very very busy week at work

And that day I was driving home on my long commute

And actually I stopped and got some big bag of trail mix

and I was munching on that on the way home

I got into my bed and was ready to take a nap and he messaged me "wanna get dinner?"

At first I was really confused and then I realized what he meant

He was here in my hometown and I had to meet him

So, I had a mini freak-out session

Got myself together and I told him I need some time to get ready cause I gotta look good

And that was probably the longest prep time ever

I am a little embarrassed to admit that it took me an hour and a half to get ready

but this is potential love of my life. I needed to look really good for you

So finally I walked downstairs and I met him in person

And thank God she wasn't taller than me

Hal-Lelu-Jah, hallelujah, hallelujah

He was perfect. Perfect height. He looked cute

And I immediately noticed his laugh. I love his laugh

So we walked to dinner and I was still kind of full from my trail mix

It's a cheap date. It all worked out

We had great conversation and it was a really wonderful night

The rest is history
