Jacob, who is straight,

asked Anthony, who is gay, and their inspiring story

captured the attention of the world,

so the prom was on Saturday.

We decided to go along and see how it went,

and take a look.

- Hey, Ellen. It's Jacob and Anthony.

I just arrived at Jacob's house

and we're about to go on our prom adventure.

- The past couple of weeks have been really crazy.

- At first, I thought I was just taking my friend to prom,

and now it's like the world wants me

to take my friend to prom.

For a lot of people, it really touched them

to not worry too much about someone else might think.

- It's amazing that two juniors in high school

could actually make the world think a little bit.

- [singing] How it happened

We took the floor and she said

Oh, don't you dare look back

Just keep your eyes on me

I said you're holding back

She said shut up and dance with me

This woman is my destiny

- You know, as the principal of the school,

I am just--I'm just touched and I'm humbled

that they would show that type of act

of love and friendship.

I can't think of any scenario in high school

that could really top that.

- It was amazing having you guys on our little prom adventure.

Definitely one of the best nights

of my high school year.
