Whats up my friends? It's Edward Tomilloso, Your Honda Man internet sales manager here at Honda of
Santa Maria and today I have the 2016 and the 2015 Honda Civics. let me show
you what they changed for this new generation so stay tuned
so what I wanted to do with this video is bounced around between the 15 and 16
so that you could see the different features that were changed for the 2016
model. The 2016 model is all new and all different from the chassis to the engine
to the technology so it's not really exact comparison but if you are
considering the 2015 or the 16 in terms of purchasing one hopefully this video
helps you make that decision. so the outgoing ninth generation has been a
really great seller for Honda but it didn't give the buyers what the Civic
used to in terms of this is a car that we aspire to get. it's basically been
top-selling commuter car this whole time it didn't really light a fire under its
consumers but it still served its purpose with great gas mileage great
safety altogether a great buy. for this video I pulled out the 2015 Honda Civic
EXL and the 2016 Honda Civic Touring model. both of these are respectively the
top of the line and the only thing that this one doesn't have would be the
navigation. both of them are in the modern steel metallic so hopefully again
if the color is one of your buying motives, hopefully seeing this car in the
sunlight helps you out. the sticker price on the 2016 birth of the 2015
essentially went up about $150 if you're looking at the LX The EX VS
the EX but where it changes is the top of the line trim top of the line trim
for the 2015 model is at 25 160 versus the top trim on the 2016 goes all the
way to 27 3 and hopefully this will show you why that's still a great value for
the 2016 model
speaking of price at this current time there are great deals on the 2015 still
to be had
so again hopefully this helps you make the best purchasing decision knowing
exactly what you get for your hard-earned money to lick it off with
the styling the styling on the 2016 model has been designed to be more
dynamic even when it's standing still it does look like it's moving a lot of
angles lot of 45 degree angles border lines that draw your eye around the car
the 2015 model not so much it was more of a rounded type of design really
subdued in terms of the lines on the vehicle when you look at the bottom of
the car we do have a sweeping line they did keep that in the 2016 the biggest
part of the 2016 that you'll notice that's different from the 2015 is the
roofline the roofline really draws your eye from the front to the back
2016 has more of a wedge-shaped vs almost a teardrop shape for the 2015
model so again
roofline is the biggest thing that changed the 2016 almost looks like it's
a hatchback does he have reminders of the Honda Crosstour if you're familiar
with that car and it did draw some inspiration from the 2016 Honda Accord
in terms of the front so now into a little bit of finer details on the
styling this Croma line on at the 2016 has been extended above the headlights I
really like that look it's cleaner and on the 2015 the chroma wyan actually
stops at the insides of the headlights headlight they are led look headlights
on the Touring model on the 2016 model the lower trams will give you projector
halogen light moving down on all trim levels you will get LED daytime running
lights which was not available on
any trim level on the 2015 model moving down you do have a redesigned lower
fascia again the whole cars redesigns I don't need to say that anymore but you
do have fog lights as well on this car I do wish that they were the LED fog
lights just like the 2016 Honda Accords but I won't bring them too much on that
going into a little bit more finer details on the 2016 versus the 1500
civic the Touring model now has chrome door handles that was not available on
any trim level on the 2015 models and other small detail is the lane watch
camera this one was designed more to form fit the side mirror versus the 2015
a lot of reviewers had said it looks like they just took a camera and put it
onto the side there in the 2016 model they also added turn signal indicators
which was not available on the 2015 and they also kept the same wheel size for
the higher trims they're all 17 inch alloy wheels and they still have that
black finish however this is a new all-new design for the 2016 Honda Civic
specifically along the lines of styling when you look at the 2016 versus the
2015 you really get a more dynamic feel on the 2016 Honda Civic on the 2015 it
is more subdued other than the chrome line that runs across the back if you
talk about chrome
16 is more subdued in that nature but overall you get more angles on the 2016
you get more of those 45 degree angle that I was talking about and you also
get Ltd taillights on the 2016 model and just overall when you look at both of
the vehicles side-by-side you will just the just more dynamics on the 2016 model
so if you're not going for too much flash the 15 is still a great choice
when you're behind a 2016 model you definitely know it's a signature style
for Honda going along the top you still have a lip spoiler on the top trim which
the 2015 did not but fuck dimensions for the 2016 model versus the 2015 model the
16 has been lowered by one inch it's been made longer by three inches and
it's been made wider by two inches how that affects style is you do get more of
an aggressive look on the 2016 the 2015 had a wider wheel gap though this does
affect style as well as performance seeking a performance on to step up
their game in terms of performance on the 2016 Honda Civic the outgoing ninth
generation had a 1.8 liter engine that's naturally aspirated cranked out a
hundred and forty-three horsepower and it is still paired with the CVT on the
2016 model they now have an available
1.5 liter engine that is turbocharged that will crank out a hundred and
seventy-four horsepower so that's 31 horsepower greater than the outgoing
model but all that horsepower does not mean that it's less fuel-efficient this
one actually get 42 miles per gallon on the highway 31 in the city the outgoing
model get 39 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 in the city so it's up
three miles per gallon on the highway and up one mile per gallon in the city
we have more horsepower how cool is that
speaking of call one of them that they pulled off the record on the 2006 Honda
Civic is remote start pushing that button and
car starts right up now you hop into the car hit the push start button and off
you go I did that same exact thing in my other videos so if you want to see a
full detailed review on just the 2016 Honda Civic touring we're gonna put a
link up here and you can check that out in the open in new window for putting
that a patient and the description as well if you wanna video just focus on
that one
which by the way if you haven't subscribed do it now we have a bunch of
videos coming up because the hatchback is coming up at the end of spring we got
the coop coming out in December and we got the Type R comin outweigh the future
so you might as well start now for that one and then we also have DSi coming for
your passengers the 9th gen civic is still a great option tons of headroom
legroom I'm 58 this is definitely still a comfortable car
bolstering is very nice on this car also still has your center armrest I will
direct your attention to the floor of the car on the night Jan it is a really
flat surface so even the person in the middle
won't get awkward in terms of where they place their feet in the tenth generation
that's a different story since this car has been lowered by one inch they had to
still make room for the exhaust going back in the way they did that is they
created a hump in the middle so if you are sitting in the middle and might have
a little awkward but at least you'll be warm while you do it because this card
now has heated rear seat which is amazing that using something reserved
for the highest ratings of mortgage smaller luxury brand I'm really curious
to see how they make the ILX the Acura version of this car that much more
appealing since the 2016 Civic is just really loaded with things
speaking of loaded with features so some of the things that the 2016 Pacific has
at the 2015 did not have available is you have
an electric parking brake you also have the break old system that was brought
over from the HRV you now I no longer have to keep your foot on the brake when
you're at a stoplight it'll automatically stop or you again features
another thing that the Honda Civic 2016 or the tenth generation has is the
availability of Honda's sensing package so it's a whole suite of features that
allows you to drive safer so you do have break mitigation so this car connection
stock for you if there is a car that slammed on the brakes ahead of you you
also have low speed follow now so if you're in the lot of stop and go traffic
this car will actually stop it'll restart again all following the traffic
that is around you so I mean we're closer guides to self-driving cars so
again what they gonna add on to the ILX top what they loaded onto the Civic so
you also have the road departure that also was not available in the 2015 where
you're really going to notice a difference on the ninth and tenth
generation is the instrument panel the 2015 had more of a two tiered dash with
your speedometer up top
the 2016 has everything all in that instrument panel and it's all digital
when you start this car up it just looks super cool wines come out and it almost
feels like the card is coming to life when you get that push start button
that's really exciting the whole new feel of this vehicle another thing that
has been changed is the need materials within the cockpit so to speak
the leather is definitely supple its perforated on the 2006
you do have a final pitch right in the middle it almost looks like carbon fiber
and then you do have right in the middle column width of course your cup holders
you also have a spot where you can put your devices you can charge it does have
a one and a half
amp USB charger and a regular charger as well and then under the armrest you have
another power source which is charging station my overall impression of the
2016 versus the 2015 is a much more modern look between the touch screen
here to the soft-touch materials to the materials that they lined throughout the
cabin it definitely gives it a sleek modern look just a touch on the
information displayed it's essentially the same display on the 15 versus the 16
however on the 16 they did at Apple AirPlay and Android auto so we'll link
that up as well just those two videos I did do an apple core play video on the
2016 Honda Accord so will incorporate that to one thing that the 2015 Honda
Civic did not have available which is now available on the 2016 model is
available
dual climate control on the other one you just have automatic climate control
this one has dual and just a touch on the steering wheel leather-wrapped on
the EXL model and above very comfortable has a nice position for your 10 into
driving and the buttons one of things I just want to mention that I've mentioned
before in a previous video is these buttons are very nice they are not gonna
wear out because the print is actually behind the clear plastic so you can rub
the clear plastic all you want but it's not going to wear out your cruise
control you always see what's going on and I do have to touch on this because a
lot of reviewers have been touching on the lack of a volume knob on either of
the ninth generation and the temp generation they did not add a physical
volume knobs of your own school you might not appreciate that and I can see
how you would want to just turn something down really quick or
fine-tuning but what I did is they added
a sliding on the steering wheel so you can slide your finger crossed or you can
push and all that it'll raise and lower your volume I think the biggest reason
that they did not include a physical button or a physical knob is for
aesthetics it just looks really clean centered right in the middle is your
screen and then having nothing obscuring your view of that screen and they did a
good job be kept it really symmetrical
volume knob would've turned it off a little bit one other thing that you will
get on the 2016 Honda Civic touring is rain sensing wipers so you're driving
along all of a sudden starts to rain here why people turn themselves off and
then turn themselves off when it doesn't fence and then that's something they
could turn off when you are in a car wash
control of that so whether you're shopping or you're just an enthusiast
that really wants to know what's going on with the 2016 Honda Civic I hope this
video helps you and if again if you're deciding to purchase a car you know the
differences and you know what say the same but see the same is class leading
and reaping the Honda Civic has always been on the top of people's radar in
terms of shopping for a nice commuter car that gives you a lot of value for
your hard-earned money so hopefully you see why the 2016 Honda Civic is haunted
attempt to make this a car that is to be desired something that you want
something that you strive for and I think they hit the nail on the head if
you are shopping for a vehicle and you're on the Central Coast between Los
Angeles and San Francisco I can actually help you out you can go straight to my
