I just recently returned from Cuba and what a great experience it was. The Cuban society is very very much in the art world, be it music art or dance. The city is surrounded by art work we went into a neighborhood where the bus stops and the homes the front of the homes looked Gaudi architecture like Barcelona. One of the suburbs we went to literally made street signs and street statues out of trash. Out of hubcaps out of steering wheels things that you just are throwing away and they create something magnificent out of it. Not to mention the cars . . . its exciting to see the old 50's Chevys and Cadillacs so that was fun. The music is everywhere you go every restaurant we went to there was a band playing. In the streets the old men play their drums and guitars and get up and dance and the women do the same and it it's just it art just permeates the country and in every every shape and form and its just enjoyable to watch so if you like music and art you'll love Cuba Keep in mind when you travel to Cuba being a communist country and has been closed off for quite a while certainly from the United States, you do need to travel with a licensed company. You're not free to roam and go about where you please. The standard of accommodations would not be as we have in the united States anyway, what we consider five star is almost non-existent. What they consider five-star is the equivalent of our four-star. And so it's not perfect by American standards anyway but as long as you go with an open mind I think you'll have a great time. The sooner you go the better. It will open up to the United States eventually but I think it's best to go before any of that happens and you get to see the true culture of these people how wonderful they are.
