Male Speaker: Now last season's finale - I mean it's not a Person of Interest

season finale if Root is not there, right? Amy Acker: I think that's a good point.

Male Speaker: Now what's coming up for her this season?

Amy Acker: Well they don't give us a lot of information so I don't have much to

reveal but the great thing about working on this show is that anything can happen

and I think even as last year progressed and the difference from this season finale

of Season 1 to Season 2 how I mean Root was a totally different character by that

point so I think maybe some time in the mental institution might do her good,

I don't know.

Male Speaker: Now something that's also very interesting is that the machine

is talked about a lot but I feel Root really loves the machine.

Is that how you see it? Amy Acker: I do, I mean I think that - I

know everyone says that Root's so evil and all of this stuff but I really feel like

that her main objective is to protect the machine and whether it's to set it free

because that's what's best for everybody so because she's having to maybe kill

a few dozen people in the path who are blocking her from doing that she's really

- I mean there's a lot of things in the world that you've had to hurt some people

for the greater good.

Male Speaker: I know, right? Amy Acker: She's kind of a hero, right?

Male Speaker: I feel like that's totally what we should be focusing on.

Now the machine has an identity, a personality.

In your mind is it a male or female?

Amy Acker: I feel like I hear in my mind like when I answer the phone it was

a female voice but I don't know if that - no, maybe not male, I don't know, we'll see.

Male Speaker: And finally if it was a female or male, whichever, what name would

you give it aside from the machine? Amy Acker: Shirley?

I don't know.
