Is it because the girl's young and it was an older guy? (Finebros) They feel that it is pedophilic. Are they serious? That's the last thing that came to my mind. It could also be a relationship between a father and a daughter, not necessarily like a boyfriend and girlfriend. I kinda got that vibe at first. But later on, I kinda felt like it was his daughter. Maybe 'cause of the age difference, and they were really touchy-touchy, and it was uncomfortable. Like, she was climbing him like a tree. People just taking it way out of proportion once again. (Finebros) So since Sia came back to making her own music recently, she's decided that she won't be in any of her music videos. And in interviews, she now does them with her back to the camera. Whaaat? - Yes. Yes. - Wait, why? Because I was watching Ellen. And when she was singing "Chandelier," she was in the back corner and Maddie was dancing. And I was like, "What is going on?" (Finebros) One of the main reasons is that she doesn't want to deal with being recognized everywhere and wants to do what she can to maintain a normal life. That's awesome. I never thought of that before. People have seen her face. Like, if you look up Sia on Google Images, her face will come up. I think that's really cool. And that's probably smart, because famous people normally go crazy. I totally would look up to her for that, because no one, no famous person I know does that. - That's pretty crazy. - And I actually really like that too, 'cause it's like, so many stars are like, "It's all about me 24/7." I thought that with money came arrogance, but, I mean-- Not with her, and that's great. (Finebros) So finally, this controversy brings up an interesting conversation. Horrible things happen to people in the world that, in recent times, has been talked about more publicly, which is good, because it raises awareness, but can result in art being scrutinized, like this video. Do you feel that artists need to keep that in mind when creating? I feel like, for some people, it can bring up emotions. But then again, I feel like other people dig deep into things just to find something wrong and then exploit it. Art's going to offend people regardless of whether or not it has underlying tones. Art is expressing yourself, and no one should be held back from that. If she now doesn't do anything just because of this one video or she doesn't feel like she can release herself artistically, what is that? If she wants to express herself no matter if it was a pedophile thing that happened to her or it wasn't, that's her option to express herself. Okay, well, let's put it like this. In your music video, you shouldn't have a grown man making out with a 12-year-old. Like, that is too far. But when something like this, where she thought in her mind was like a beautiful-- which it was. It was a beautiful music video. You should be never afraid to put out what you want. And what's in your heart and what you and your mind and in your imagination want to create, you should be able to do that without any scrutiny.
