The first step is roll the foam hearing protection between your fingers,

until the protection looks thin all the way around.

While the protection is thin, quickly pull the top of your ear

up and back and put the protection in your ear canal

as far as you can with the flat side facing out of the ear.

Pulling your ear up and back will straighten out your ear canal,

making it easier to put the protection in your ear.

You should keep hold of the protection with a finger until the protection fully expands.

Once the protection is put in correctly,

it should not be hanging out of the ear but look similar to this.
