  • Today's idiom is: bottom line.

  • Bottom line.

  • Alright, so let's picture many lines and on each line is going to be a sentence.

  • Okay, and we'll start from the top.

  • And we'll say on the top line is, 'I'm hungry,'

  • and the next line is, 'I'm tired,'

  • and 'I'm sick,'

  • and on the bottom line, it's a big line and it says, 'I'm not well.'

  • Alright, so 'I'm tired', 'I'm hungry', 'I'm sick' and on the bottom line, 'I'm not well'.

  • Alright, so let's imagine this picture of the lines and the bottom line and try to think of what the idiom 'bottom line' might mean.

  • Let's listen to some examples.

  • What are you saying?

  • Well, the bottom line is that I don’t think I can pass the English exam in only one month, even if I study every day.

  • Alright, so his bottom line is that he can't pass the English exam.

  • Okay, let's listen to the second example.
