Today's story is called "Food for One More"

今日のお話は「ワンモアのための食べ物」です。

Today's message is 'Even though bad things happen to me, I know God loves me'

今日のメッセージは「悪いことが起こっても、神様は私を愛している」です。

Karoff was hungry. His family was hungry too

カロフは空腹だった彼の家族も空腹だった

They had not had any food for three days

彼らは3日間何も食べていませんでした

Their father had gone to try to find something

父親は何かを探しに行っていた

But he came back with nothing

しかし、彼は何も持って帰ってきませんでした

"I'm sorry," he said

"ごめんね "と言っていました。

"There is not rice left in our village!

"うちの村には米が残っていない!

It has not rained for many months

久しぶりの雨

Without rain, things will not grow.

雨が降らなければ、物は育たない。

We may not have any food for a long, long time

Just when they thought they would die, God sent help

A truck with a sign that said ADRA

came to their village

"Rice! Rice!" the driver called

"Each family may have one bag of rice!"

Soon, each family in the village had enough rice to last for several days

やがて、村の各家庭には数日分のお米が備わるようになりました。

More trucks came during the long months until the rain came

雨が降るまでの長い月日の間に、さらに多くのトラックがやってきました。

A long time ago, God took care of Elijah in a special way too

昔、神はエリヤの世話も特別な方法で行っていた。

It hadn't rained in Israel in months!

The fields were brown and dead

Bare trees stood like skeletons against the hot sky

The rivers and streams had dried up

And finally,

even the Brook Cherith where Elijah had been hiding from King Ahab had went dry

But God was still caring for Elijah

"Go to Zarephath," God said

"I have told a widow there to take care of you"

So Elijah left Israel

and traveled more than a hundred miles

away to another country

There at the gate to Zarephath

a widow was gathering sticks

"Would you please bring me a little water and a jar?"

"水と瓶を持ってきてくれないか？"

Elijah asked her

"And would you please bring me some bread too?"

"パンも持ってきてくれる？"

The woman had turned to go get the water

女は水を取りに行こうとしていた

But she stopped when Elijah asked for bread

しかしエリヤがパンを求めたので 彼女はやめた

"I don't have any bread," she said

"パンがない "と言っていた

"All I have are a handful of flour and a little oil

"私が持っているのは一握りの小麦粉と少しの油だけ

I'm gathering firewood so I can bake some bread for my son and myself.

息子と自分のためにパンを焼けるように薪を集めています。

And after we eat that, we will die"

"それを食べたら死ぬ"

"Don't be afraid," said Elijah

"Go home and make me a small piece of bread

"家に帰って小さなパンを作って

Then make something for yourself and your son

そして、自分と息子のために何かを作る

For God says the oil and the flour will not be used up

神が言うには、油も小麦粉も使い切れない。

Until he sends rain on the land"

This woman was not an Israelite

この女はイスラエル人ではなかった

But she believed in God and placed her faith in Him

しかし、彼女は神を信じ、神に信仰を置きました。

She decided to trust God to take care of her needs

彼女は神に信頼して、自分のニーズをケアすることに決めた。

It happened just as Elijah said it would

イライジャが言った通りになった

He went home with her and she made some bread for him

彼は彼女と一緒に家に帰り、彼女は彼のためにパンを作ってくれました。

After that day,

Whenever she went to bake bread

彼女がパンを焼きに行くたびに

There was just enough flour and oil

小麦粉と油がちょうどよかった

The flour and oil never ran out

小麦粉と油が尽きることはなかった

The miracle God worked to save Elijah

イライジャを救うために神が働いた奇跡

also saved the lives of this woman and her son

この女性とその息子の命も救った

Sometime later, this woman's son became sick and died

しばらくして、この女性の息子が病気になって死んだ。

Her first thought was that God was punishing her

彼女の最初の考えは、神が彼女を罰していると思った。

"What do you have against me?" She cried out in her sorrow

"私に何の恨みがあるの？"彼女は悲しみの中で叫んだ

"Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?"

"私の罪を思い出させて 息子を殺すために来たのか？"

Of course, God had not caused the boy to die

もちろん、神が少年を死なせたわけではありません。

God's grace brings the gift of life

神の恵みはいのちの贈り物をもたらす

God's grace had kept all three of them from dying during the famine

神の恵みは、飢饉の間に3人を死なせないようにしていた

Elijah had been staying in an upstairs room at the widow's house

イライジャは未亡人の家の二階の部屋に滞在していた

He took the boy to that room and cried to God

彼は少年をその部屋に連れて行き、神に泣きついた。

"Oh Lord, My God!

"ああ、神様！

Let this boy's life return to him."

"この子の人生を返してあげよう"

God quickly answered Elijah's prayer

神はすぐにエリヤの祈りに答えられた

At once, the boy came back to life

一度に少年は生き返った

God cares about the problems in your life too

神はあなたの人生の問題も気にする

Even though bad things sometimes happen

悪いことがあっても

God still loves you

神はまだあなたを愛している

He wants you to trust Him

彼はあなたが彼を信頼することを望んでいる

He will take care of your needs

彼はあなたのニーズに対応してくれます

just as he cared for Elijah
