After graduating, I took time off looking for jobs. I wasn't having very much success.

So, essentially I said, well you know what, in the future I do want to do an MBA but I saw this graduate certificate

at Algonquin and I thought it would be a great way to get some business background.

Students get a real hands-on

learning experience in each of the various topics that we cover.

What is really unique about it is at the same time the students work towards their

graduate certificate here at the college, they are also working towards

a certification from the Forum for International Trade Training.

One of the top-level domain accreditations that exists

is the C.I.T.P, or the Certified International Trade Professional

designations that F.I.T.T. confers.

Through the international graduate certificate program that Algonquin College offers,

students can meet the educational requirements for that professional accreditation.

The professors are great. They have a lot of experience. So I would recommend it for

anybody that's looking for personal insight into the

international business world. It's great for that aspect.

I thought, with my university degree and then with a graduate certificate here

and the C.I.T.P certification that I'd probably have a good advantage at finding a job in the end.

We all hear the word 'globalization'

all the time and it is very, very true. Companies in Canada

regardless of their size, now compete with companies

all around the world. What is taught through a graduate certificate program

is an encompassing levels of skills and knowledge

to equip someone to practically work in international trade.

More and more companies are looking for students with these kinds of

skills. Companies have told us they want students to arrive

being able to contribute to their international activities
